When I bought the car, there was no maintenance plan for the diesels.
Price breakup:
Oil Filter Kit Rs. 408.65
Engine Oil Rs. 909.35 (6.20 lt. @ 146.67/lt.) Strangely, the oil is specified as Opel Motor Oil

Never heard of 6.2L oil being required for a 2L engine before. Are you sure or do you think you were taken for a ride?

Uh-oh! You could be right. AFIR, the Octy takes 4.5lt.

The amount of oil used when the filter is also changed is greater than the amount used if only the oil was replaced. So that might be the case. The difference in case of a swift vdi is about 1 L.
6.2 L still sounds a little too much.

Isn't the oil filter always replaced with an oil change?

@shuvd: IIRC it's 7L and not 6.2L. Please do check this out.

Deepug - The bill says 6.20 @ Rs. 146.67 = Rs. 909.35.

HotChillyPepper - The engines are same. But, the Captiva has a VGT and different ECU mapping.

That is true... But APMK VGT will affect only your lower end (mostly at low RPMs VGT reduces the flow than normal, so constant density mixture thro out the rav band ) if I am right. So Max power would be the same right ???

Swift takes in 3.3L
My Optra 1.8 takes in 4L
Innova takes in 7L

So how come the Magnum takes in 6.2L? Imagine putting synthetic, you will need to buy a 4 liter can and 3, 1 liter cans. Thats around 4500 in oil change alone.

@shuvd you need to check with this with the service center . In the manual it says 7L and my service bill says 7L. How come they put only 6.2 L for you?

guys i have a question for all Magnum owners.

That car was being criticized for the build quality (of course as compared to Octavia). So please comment on the following:

1. Does the door still close with a solid thunk sound? or something rattles?

2. Are the interiors still calm and quiet or the diesel engine is creating ripples inside the cabin?

3. Rattling noise inside the cabin? because something has gone loose?

4. Exterior Paint quality?

5. Howz the AC? still having a solid cooling?
