Check the water pump belt first, also check if something is stuck in the brake caliper.

Same used to happen, and still happens in my car. And now, I don't know if there's any connection in these, car brakes make occassional shuddering and vibration noises and no one has been able to identify the problem till now .

Is it in any particular spots?

Tile / granite floors can lead to screeching noises especially while turning.

Hi dude,

Seems the spring or lever in your tail door has come out of its place. After all the techniques with lever opening and key opening did not work then better to go to the door Mechanic.

As a matter of fact, just dropped her at RNS hosur road today morning with following list:

1. 40,000 kms service- Engine oil supplied by customer
a. DONOT replace: coolant, air filter and wiper blades (Had replaced at 35k kms)
b. No wheel rotation, alignment and balancing
2. EGR cleaning.
3. Tighten all suspension and chassis bolts
4. Complete brake overhaul
5. Check steering damper noise
6. AC filter fix
7. Fix all plastic clips in mud flap and other underbody trim
8. Replace side indicator/fender units (RT and LT)
9. Fix DDIS side badges
10. Fix all rattles
11. Interior detailing – (No polish on the top part of dash board)
12. Horn upgrade option?
13. Don’t spray oil inside bonnet and under body
14. No dealer stickering on the car

2- They tried to add decarb, which i have denied
6- They have no clue, i have to figure out the part no and order later
12- They will try to tune it, though i insisted on replacing. Lets see

Didnt bother with any particular SA and hope they do a good job. Delivery expected in the evening.

I had put in Yoko A drives at around 37k kms and done the stuff then, otherwise also i do it at Madhus. They are cheaper and accurate than dealers.

EGR is Exhaust gas recirculation which was scheduled job at 30k kms and was not done.

Hi Jaggu,
Some questions
4. Why a complete brake overhaul. Has the car brakes given up?
6. Please update on the part number - I would like to order the same next time around.
8. Why is this necessary?
9. Did your DDIS badges fall off

4) I do this every 10k kms, basically clean callipers/grease em, clean rear drum and set handbrake. Nothing more to it.

6) Its somewhere on the forum, i will post once i find it.

8) Broken clips thanks to some polish work. Word of caution be very careful while you try to remove it otherwise you will break the lock clips. This is the second time for me thanks to carelessness by others. Good part of the story is, they are cheap

9) Debadged during some cosmetic work, am fed up of convincing petrol pump guys that this "is" a diesel car. So putting them back

40,000 kms service update

Got her back, job done is just about ok. Car is feeling much tighter and new oil in engine and gearbox means better behavior from them. As usual they have tightened the steering damper hence a tighter steering also (am not complaining).

But, that irritating rear dicky door rattle was not fixed. Vidyuth had pinpointed it to me, which i explained/gave as print out, but those lazy bums forgot about it i guess.

Bigger disappointment was the EGR cleaning, which was NOT done! Inspite of mentioning it, when i gave for service and inspite giving a print out of the job!

SA Erappa was trying to convince me by saying it was done and labor was included in the 800 bucks they charged for the service. He pointed to intercooler when i quized again, i had to explain the difference and finally he conceded Nothing is mentioned in the mech's log which i glanced through before paying up nor the print out of job done.

Am sure they havent even cleaned the air filter, i guess its for me to handle over the weekend.

Bill:

Parts: Filters, oil, plugs, clips etc - 2777.50
Labor: 1980 including the 800 for interior cleaning
VAT!: 347.20
Service Tax!: 198
Total: 5309/-

Am not very happy, though work done (whatever done rather) was ok. For a change the interior cleaning and washing was on good side and they followed instruction about not polishing the dash, spraying the engine bay and stickering bit.

I collected the feedback card, the only poor weapon in the hands of poor customer.

Whole experience makes me wonder, how can we trust these dealers with our cars. Inspite of specific written instructions they goof up! Do we have to go and stand by to see if the work is done? Can we trust them with things like fluid and filter change without monitoring? Do they even do it?

Am losing my faith in the system!

Hi Jaggu, i am just curious. Does the Dzire service always come up to 5k or is it cheaper at times as well. The reason i ask is because i was told by someone that Swift and Dzire service is always between 2-3.5k. Could you fill me in please?

2-3k for minor service like 15, 25, 30, 35 k kms etc. Allocate 4-5k for 20, 40, 60k services etc. Charges for swift and dezire should be similar, coz apart from an extra boot pretty much the same car.
