re: My Black Mamba -VW Vento TDi- EDIT : 1st Service Report

Mikon,

Where did you get the frame for fitting the HU which I have pointed out in the below picture?

My Black Mamba - VW Vento TDi - *UPDATE* 50,000 kms-audiopanel.jpg

Does it come as a standard fitment with the trendline version? Mine is a highline and I replaced the original HU with the 7 inch touch screen panel. The person who fitted the HU, used wooden frame to hold the HU and looks horrible. Also the HU display panel is projecting atleast 1 inch outside . Since then I was searching for frame to fit the HU perfectly. On seeing your picture I think it would fit mine also.

Hey Mikon, hearty congratulations !!! You have a stunning car, black vent tdi is just awesome, I was thinking of getting vento trend but decided on polo tdi high line. I test drove vent to 160 but found it very stable, which car are you comparing when you said it didn't feel solid at 140?

First of all Congrats for your car!!
Yes, I comes as standard fitment in the trend line with a bifurcation. The bifurcation was cut and the HU was fitted. Then another layer was border was added (just the one which outlines the HU).
Yes definitely you can fit yours, morevoer it is touch screen, so when it comes 1 inch outside, I can easily imagine how it would look

The main reason I got the trendline is because I can modify it to my taste rather than company's.
All the best, Let me know if I could help you in any ways. I will also ask the person who did the fitting in my car and let you know about the highline fitting option.

Hey thanks a lot!
Why did you go in for the polo?
I drove the car on the expressway, after 140 felt bit unstable, rather lighter. Dont know why? But later it was normal. So pushed it to 180.
2 reasons I can think of now
- ALignment of the wheels.
- Patch of the expressway at that particular time.

Hey mikon

I showed the pics of your Vento to many of my friends and they are simply floored by the looks of your Black Mamba. Many of them want to know where did you get those alloys from in Pune. If you can't publish, do PM me with the details and contact person.

That Vento rocks!

Did you get the alignment done? If not, that will be the cause. I had faced the problem when I took the car out from delivery. On seeing this, I took it for alignment and balancing.

Went for a long drive after that and touched 160. The car was glued to the road and was begging me to push further but decided not to since Cochin isnt the best place to push cars

I would suggest you to get the alignment done asap. Every 5k to be precise.

Not yet! I dint get proper time.
Even I think that must be the reason. I'll do it asap.
I feel cochin is the best place to tune or find a well maintained car.

Nope it did not void the warranty.
