Looks like CS400 will have a display just in front of the fuel filler cap that displays speed and which gear the bike is in.

And SS400 seems to sport 200NS' console.

CS400 is going to sell in large numbers and my guess is that CS400 should be priced around 1.6-1.8 undercutting Duke 390

Bajaj has really upped the ante now. They have gone from commuter bikes, to out and out monsters now. Pretty much dumbstruck by how beautiful both the SS and the CS look, and at 1.8 lakh OTR, you've definitely got a winner on your hands. Hats off!

Motoroids have caught the P200SS/ P375SS testing near its Chakan plant. Here are the pics:

The CS 400 looks neat and menacing at the same time ! The SS looks a tad overdone. I feel the CS will sell in greater numbers than the SS. And if they price it below 1.8L INR (as expected), this will sell like the proverbial hot cakes.

Cheers !

re: Next Gen Bajaj Pulsars - SS400 & CS400 (rechristened as Dominar)

Motoroids are reporting that the SS400 and CS400 will be put into production in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Quote:
While the not-so-good-news is that Bajaj fanatics will have to wait till second half of 2015 for an all-out sports bike model of the Pulsar, the news that pleases us to no end is that the Pulsar SS 400 will borrow in plenty from the KTM 390 Duke/RC390, whose 375 cc motor will make sure that the SS400 justifies its name, i.e., ‘Super Sport’ 400.

While the Pulsar SS400 would be more of a RC390 derivative, the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be more of a distant cousin of the KTM Duke 390. The upcoming naked street sibling of the SS400 could hit Indian streets around the second quarter of 2016 and akin to the SS400, will be powered by a 375cc single cylinder KTM sourced engine. Pulsar CS400 could have a max power of around 40 bhp and this bike is expected to have a price tag of a little less than INR 2 lakhs.

MODS: Please edit the thread title to reflect the Pulsar twins exact names.

Awesome news . I'm hoping this will put out around 40 horses and cost slightly less than the D390 .
According to me this bike makes the most sense for an average enthusiast and also for long distance touring, now only if Bajaj can tune that D390 engine to sort out that snatchy low rpm throttle response. Fingers crossed.

My thoughts echo the comment above. I just test drove the Benelli 300 and found it to be better as compared to the D390 because the former makes all through the rev range while the latter only does so at high rpms. If they manage to tune this engine for Low revs (unlikely but fingers crossed), I would buy it for sure! Great looks.,Killer Console and a knockout price tag!! C'mon Bajaj!!! I am rooting for you!

It surely does makes the most sense for the average enthusiast, I totally agree to you sir. This kind of power is manageable in our type of road conditions. It also adds the rush that I can imagine comparing to the Duke 390's performance. All of this within the reach of budgets, hence such thrill at such affordability is absolutely welcome.

The Benelli looks overpriced against the D390, but what I am interested to know from you sir is how does the twin cylinder feel as compared to the D390. Assuming that you have test ridden both. I have ridden the D390 and its an outrageously fantastic powerhouse on our type of roads.

It is a well known fact that any single cylinder engine does vibrate at higher CC rating but also produces higher bhp, but the smoothness or sound of the twin or more cylinders cannot be matched by a single.

The NS 200 refinement and quality levels do hint that the Cs 400 should also be a better Pulsar. Although I am an "Anti Pulsarist" but the Cs 400 does stir all the perceptions till date.

Exactly the case in point. Although based on the D200 , the NS has better gearing as well as refinement, much suited to our roads.
D200 will run out of breath on the highway & D390 is a pain to ride in city traffic. Reality is not every customer in India will have 2 rides (one for city and other for highways/touring) so a bike needs to be logical compromise between the 2.
But Bajaj have a real task on their hands working with the 390. But I'm highly optimistic they will pull off a winner here.

re: Next Gen Bajaj Pulsars - SS400 & CS400 (rechristened as Dominar)

The CS do looks nice - much better treatment than the RS. I recently saw a AS 200 and was really surprised to see the quality and fit and finish improvement. For me, this looks much better than the RS, and this CS is now taking the design to a new level. I am sure there will be many takes for a sensibly priced, touring oriented bike from Bajaj, but please - no 150 CC. Please do not dilute the brand by adding lot of variants (a la AS 150).

Just a thought - will it be better for the brand image if they introduce a new brand for bikes with higher capacity (more than 200 CC).

Good thought. I'm doubtful of how many will spend more than 1.5 Lakhs for brand Pulsar when they are associated much with their 150 cc bikes.

I too feel Bajaj needs to opt for another exclusive brand name to target >200 cc or 1.5 Lakh Rs customers.
