Cool.
Has Fi been confirmed anywhere for this bike ? I think I had asked this question a few posts back as well.

And I agree with Sagar & Ashis about the blue backlit keys looking tacky, I prefer the white which I have on my 220.

@farhadtarapore: There is no functional advantage of white over blue or even having a specific color, as pointed out its more about the aesthetic feel.

Considering current technical advancement, such bike coming without FI is highly unlikely.
Unlike Himalayan for which Carb is an USP, CS400 belongs to different category.

One of the spyshots of the tank shows ECU and possibly FI written on the protoype

Saw a couple of videos from the 2014 Expo, at that stage the bike was supposed to be equipped with Fi and (unfortunately) blue backlit switchgear.

The RS200 gets Fi.. with the CS400 positioned above (very high probability that it will) Fi should be a standard feature on this bike

One bike would be in the market very soon in the competition with CS400. That's TVS BMW G310R for you. I had been looking out for every detail about CS400 since many months now. But this BMW bug has bitten me, and it has bitten hard guess will need to wait and watch.

The BMW is more of a direct competitor to the KTMs (200 and 390 Dukes)

It looks inspired by the KTMs in more ways than one

Yup, that's what the speculations say. But when we think about a prospective buyer, who is looking for all the new upcoming bikes, this sure is going to inject some dilemma in one's mind.

Do we have a speculative figure on the fuel economy yet for CS400?

Well, when news of a 300cc TVS-BMW started making rounds, it did seem like a proper street bike for city. Not to forget the stunt concept that was showcased initially. But more recent reports mention about accessories list, which include top case, 12v socket etc, which hints at a touring friendly motorcycle. This puts it in CS 400 territory.

In case of the 200, Bajaj fares a little better than its KTM counterpart. As far as FE of duke 390 goes its in the range of 27-34. CS400 should be around the same ballpark, albiet a litte more frugal.

Till the price is announced. The current numbers (by guess) looks very attractive for even an prospective CS400 buyer simply because of that badge in the bike.

Forget its potential, its definitely going to stir some competition if they end up pricing it as mentioned in its thread.

It (G310R) should be close to the KTM 390 Duke. If it is priced significantly more than that, then the numbers would be low.. even with that BMW badge.

Keep Calm and Trust Bajaj to field as VFM (CS400) offering (as usual) .

Hello Payeng Sir,

Your enthusiasm regarding the CS400 is really great and I can sense you will be in the first list of buyers. Do post the ownership thread here if you do so.

This news is esp for you and all other people like us who are eagerly awaiting this storm which might be a game changer in the mid biking segment.

August Launch Confirmed - Source

Quote:
Bajaj Auto CEO Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed that the fastest Pulsar, the Pulsar CS400, will ride into the Indian market in August 2016. Bajaj confirmed the launch date at the Company’s recently concluded Annual General Meeting. The management had dropped the hint about the launch on several occasions before stating that the Pulsar CS400 will be launched in the third quarter of 2016 (July-September).
Cheers !!

Over these years I have learnt that virtually almost every new launch (across all brands) take around 1-2 years to iron out initial issues.

Therefore this time even if I really find the CS400 very interesting, I am willing to wait for around 2 years post its launch.

re: Next Gen Bajaj Pulsars - SS400 & CS400 (rechristened as Dominar)

You sir payeng, have got lot of patience in you. Hats off to that :-)

Anyways, my wait has also increased. I was planning to evaluate CS400 and BMW G310R - unbiased - and then to take a call. But the launch of BMW has been postponed to next year Jan-Mar 2017. This, also opens up some window to rule out the initial issues in the first lot of CS400.

By the way, two articles on NDTVAuto and Zigwheels state that the power output of the bike is going to be in the range of 35-38BHP. This is a shocker. Earlier, speculations were around 40BHP. But the range of torque has increased :P

Well, I guess wait and watch is the best option. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Bajaj might be up to a flanking game here, they have probably tuned the bike to deliver similar power (and deliver a relaxed riding experience) as that of BMW but at a lower price and position the 2017 Duke 390 at a premium over BMW G310R.
