But has there been any confirmation of the format for CS ?

I am hoping its a single spark + FI design, but I assume it will follow the RS type of 3 spark plugs + FI.

Don't forget to add AS to the mix , though its essentially the NS with a bikini fairing.

NS, AS, RS & CS ... phew, talk about milking a platform !!

No idea.

But the 3rd Spark Plug probably is useful in reducing the amount of catalysts used in the exhaust of the bike..

.. (when I had last observed) the NS did not have the "tik-tik" noise from the exhaust when it used to cool down due to the catalysts cooling down at different rates (an occurrence normally seen in bike exhausts with catalytic converters).

Catalysts are precious metals that add to the cost. So probably the third spark plug (and guess the second as well ) is functional.

True that.. in fact Mr. Bajaj could have thought of a new brand. The model (CS400) can certainly pull off/establish a new brand according to me. In my opinion there is a good opportunity for Bajaj to establish a new brand above the Pulsar brand.

I know this has been discussed to death

But if this tech was so revolutionary and cost efficient why wouldn't KTM/Bajaj use the same for the Duke? Which manages just fine with one spark plug !!

Really? I was unaware that people knew about it.

No idea.

But brands like KTM and Ducati have at least used Two Spark Plugs in some of their bikes. Maybe Bajaj is applying for the patent of the third spark plug (have never heard any automobile that has tried 3 spark plugs in a single cylinder)

If the cs400 looks and gives a big fat bike feeling the not so RE loyalist can buy it instead of RE. RE main strength is retro looks , the thump and the big bike look in relatively less price. Has anyone seen the CS400 in real at the auto expo who can confirm if it is a big fat bike compared to say a Duke 390 or is it at least same in size like the Bullet Electra?

Exactly the same opinion that I have.

And from what I have seen and known, quite a few of the Classic 350 (especially this particular model) owners are from the NOT so Hardcore RE Loyalysts camp.. and could switch loyalties if they find another "MANLY" bike.

Spotted test mule of CS400 yesterday near Ravet, Pune. Strangely, it had Bajaj V15 for company.

Does it have a commanding presence on road? The bike looks nice in photos. let' see how it looks in real.
I hope it is bigger and longer then the Machindra Mojo.

Are the handlebar switches blue or white back lit? I personally do not like the blue color back light on the NS and RS. The white light looks classy. Blue looks tacky

Interesting, although I always felt the low slung well designed Bajaj V15 (in a fleeting glance got it confused with the bonnie) has a potential to go V30 or even V40, the chassis dynamics and brakes could need work, but there is potential.

Pulsar CS400 to have LED headlamps : Segment first!

Pulsar CS400 test mule spotted with LED headlamps recently. The vehicle has been spotted with lights on which confirm the same. It is to be noted that Bajaj displayed the LED headlight mule at 2014 Auto Expo.

Knowing Mr. Bajaj, this could get launched at Mojo's price

ABS + Fi + Perimeter Frame + 375 cc Engine + LED Headlamps..!!!

Cool.

I've always wondered, how does it even matter when you're riding? Please tell me you don't look down to see which switch you're pressing.

It is more from an aesthetics stand point, just like we prefer a white backlit LCD than a red or an orange one. While we can see the readings in either case, we prefer one color over the other. I agree with Sagar that white looks better and is more soothing to the eye, than the blue.
