I don't see anyone bashing the bike, at least not on this page. If that was an indirect dig at my comment above your post, your rant was misdirected. I basically meant that KTM India was misleading customers, which is a cardinal sin anywhere but #Hamara_Desh.

Plus, how do you know that anyone wouldn't want to buy PowerParts? I want them.

Context - I love the bike, and have booked one myself. In fact, I cancelled my booking of a white D390. Waiting for the delivery of my black ADV. I'm a huge fan of the platform. Often, fan boys are the biggest critics. I am both.

And she crosses 57K !

A customary ride during the monsoon season to the western ghats made the bike cross the 57,000 KMs mark. Things have been good so far and she's been running as reliable as her Jap siblings in the stable.

Here are some snaps:

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

Got the new 2022 model home sometime in March, new color and comes with new riding modes and cornering ABS. Experience after 2000kms- A great, light weight adventure bike and built tough, stiff suspension but handling and control are top notch, bit lower grunt in lower revs , also due to ride by wire feeling a bit free running feeling but can be managed.
Nothing comes close to this for the money paid and maintenance cost, real fun on road and off road.

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

4 days after I got my bike I went on a ride from Bhubaneswar to Gaya. Some goods and bads happened.
The Goods:
Completed my first long distance ride of 770 Kms. I took Bhubaneswar-Baripada-Jamshedpur-Hazaribagh-Gaya route.
On day 1, I reached Baripada and rested there for the day at a friend's house. Next day rode from Baripada till gaya. Which means another first for me: 500Kms a day ride(almost).
A good start to my touring journey if I say so myself.
The bike was only 4 days out of showroom when I started and it performed very reliably. Although, service due light and warning came up on dash with only 150 kms on ODO. Talked to my SA and he said I can continue on my ride and if it breaks down RSA will be there (which sounded kind of dumb to me). Throughout the ride I felt the engine getting more refined or maybe it was just me getting just to the vibes.
I will get the first service done soon at gaya itself as I just cannot see the engine oil in watch glass(or peek glass?).

The bad:
On day 1 noticed that the up button of the display control doesn't work which I missed during the PDI. I guess QC is a gripe with all manufacturers.
Then on day 2 I was happily cruising at about 70Kmph at 5:30 PM, I wanted to change the lane to overtake a truck. I could see that there as a slight raise like there usually is between the lanes, so I braced my self for that slight change.
Turns out it was not just a slight raise and instead it was full 2 inch gap between the lanes and mind you it's the famous GRAND TRUNCK road. My front tire went in it and I struggled to get out of it for maybe 5 sec and then, BAM. Went sliding on the road. A truck was behind me but there was enough distance for him to stop safely.
Got up, checked myself and only had a scratch on right knee. Riding gear did its job well. Checked the bike, and it had a broken right knuckle guard, right mirror and a twisted rear break lever. No scratches on the body though. So got up and continued the ride reached destination around 8PM, whole time thinking how it could have been a perfect first ride but didn't happen.

No problem, return journey will be perfect second ride.
Regards,
MiSiMa

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

Has anyone used the Givi Airflow Windscreen for KTM 390 Adventure. I am using the one from carbon racing and still facing a lot of buffeting. I'm 5.11 and have raised my handlebar for an upright position. Any advice if its worth spending 20K on this . Attaching a pic of my bike here too. Any advice on this would be appreciated

I have an Airflow on my V-Strom 650. I wrote a post on it. Here's a link.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/super...ml#post4668373 (Suzuki V-Strom 650XT - Adventure bike done just right. EDIT: Akrapovic exhaust installed)

It will solve buffeting, period. But it's very tall. I ride around on the lowest setting 99% of the time.

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

Hi all,

I was amazed to see the collection of Powerparts in south east Asia. Recently visited Philippines KTM and they are loaded with all powerparts and riding gears in store. Not sure when we will get them in India.

Can't say about online, but check out the Apollo Tramplr XR tyres, they seem promising.
