INR 17k quoted for OE mat plus flaps for the Jetta! This is my neighbor's ride and he decided to keep it without the flaps.

He had a minor dent and scratch last week from a biker's handle. This was on the rear right fender and it did cost him 10k.

Wow! that's expensive. If I remember right, it was about 10K for the OE mudflaps which I got as a freebie. Looks like VW has increased the prices. I will be getting my first service done next week and will ask them about it.

INR 17k is seriously very expensive for mats and flaps. Even 3D Kagu mats is available for INR 7k in after markets. These Volkswagen dealers are day light robbers.

Re: Volkswagen Jetta : Test Drive & Review

I happen to come across this video in youtube,

Few of the features shown here are sorely missed in Indian Version, Been three years since jetta has come to India , still there seems to be no sign of a facelift or any additional feature upgrade, The "Kessy" feature and boot release have blew me out of my mind! I seriously wish if at least VW could offer an additional package like they did for the Vento and Polo to get these extra features. After watching this video the Jetta-Highline here in India looks like a base model. There is almost everything in the SEL edition. Also the 6-speed DSG with 170bhp is missed. I hope the 170bhp would be coming as a facelift at least by 2014 end with that big fat feature list.

Hi karan,

Finally a refresh for jetta but I'm pretty sure that it won't make it to india till 2015. Is this just a facelift or the MKVII car ?

A remap takes you to 190/200. So you wont miss the 170hp motor.

The one in the video is the 2.5L petrol and I believe its specific to the US market.

This is the facelift of the MK7. The Jetta being a CKD, it may not much time to arrive in India after the international launch.

Straightaway I went for the 835 as the one I get with the Jetta is very basic.

835 + points

Supports reverse camera.
Comes with mapmyindia navigation
you can play vidoes. supports 2 USBs
Blutooth.
Touchscreen.

These are the ones I used so far. I still need to explore more.

Dear Sanjeev,

How is sound quality from 835? Did you have to change the speakers too?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Chetan,

I played one movie, found sound quality good. I didn't change stock speakers.

Thanks Sanjeev.

I have a few questions. Kindly help:
  • What is the fuse rating of 835? (Fuse behind the 835 unit)
  • Is it possible to post a picture of back-end of this unit (835)?
  • What was the fuse rating of RCD 310? Is it same as 835?

Thanks in advance..

Hi pritwi,

Have a couple of questions if you can shed some light -

1. What would be the torque rating & spread with the 190 remap?

2. Would the 6 speed DSG be able to cope with the revised power & torque numbers without becoming unreliable?

Cheers !!
