Yes, I feel that sometimes. And my recent test drive of the Virtus 1.5DSG has reaffirmed what I’m missing in 1L AT vs 1.5DSG.

If one is in the market and looking to buy the VW 2.0 cars and have a bit of a budget to push, please go with 1.5!

In your itinerary, Mumbai seems like a typo.

The Pune Bangalore expressway has a lot of intermittent construction work going on. Specially between Kolhapur and Satara, diversions are there every 2-3 kms. I took 7.5 hours to reach Kolhapur from Mumbai this Dec 2023. I remember this used to be 5.5-6 hours in 2017-2019 for trips I had taken.

I will avoid Amboli. I have been told that both the Chorla and Amboli ghats are in bad shape. I would skip Goa and explore the beaches of Coastal Karnataka.

Look for beach stays between Gokarna and Mangalore. You can get some pretty good properties and can't go wrong with any beach between this stretch.

In Chikmagalur, you can try Thippanhali estate to stay in. I had stayed there in 2016 and it was a wonderful experience.

The rest of the itinerary looks fine.

Kundah: The Views -True Baduga living (Simple Place with a view to die for)




Attapadi: BreezeBay (Beautiful landscape and Average quality cabins, But super value for money)

For those who are interested in purchasing an extended warranty or SMP, it is advisable to keep checking with their respective dealers and other dealers across the country for any available offers. I suggest this because I bought an extended warranty from a dealer located in a different city for 21499/-, while my dealer was trying to overcharge me 26500/-. Surprisingly, the price advertised on the Skoda website was 24499/-.

Later, I found out that a dealer in Pune was offering an extended warranty for 19999/- and SMP for 24999/- in the same month. Therefore, it is always wise to keep searching for better deals and offers before making a final decision.

Prior to December 19, 2023, Garve Skoda located in Pune had offered the lowest price for the same product. However, I ended up purchasing an EW from Mody Skoda in Kandivali, Mumbai in December 2023. The entire process was conducted over a phone call and I didn't have to send any pictures or videos. I made the payment to Skoda Auto online. It is possible that offers may become available again in January or February 2024.

I wanted to know whether to get this repaired at the dealer or an good independent paint and dent shop. I know factory finish may not be possible at both but want to get the best output.
I have had my earlier cars repaired from dealers (not skoda) and most of the time paint finish was not upto mark.

I too had a similar incident with my Slavia and decided to go ahead with the SC.

This doesn't look like much but it was a proper dent. The panel had gone inside.



I decided to give it to SC because independent paint shop may or may not use the same quality of paint and since it was a new car I didn't want to take a risk. Plus the SC has a machine which they fuse metal to metal and remove the dent out without removing any panel.



Final result. I am happy with the result.



It costed me around 7.9k with GST
