This could be because of a failed sensor. I had faced this with my rapid a few of times during the initial years. Twice it was the ABS sensor and once it was the injector coil. Replacement was quick and under warranty. My warranty was expiring recently and hence extended it for two more years just for the peace of mind, although the car gives zero trouble.

Found this nasty looking cut on one of of the Conti UC6 tyres on my Slavia yesterday. Definitely doesn't look like wear and tear. Any thoughts if this has any potential for tyre bursts/safety especially on Highway speeds and higher tyre temperatures ? Anyone with similar experience ?

My tyre guy offered to paste that cut section with rubber cement/compound used in mushroom punctures. Any other thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Thanks !

Looks like its an impact damage. May be a sharp metal object on the road?

Anyway, don't try mushroom puncture or any workaround. Do get a new tyre, from the pic atleast it looks like a large impact damage. It may not hold the structurally.

Claim warranty if available, else, get the tyre changed. Not safe to be driving around in that, looks like the damage is pretty deep. It won't be structurally safe anymore.

I am trying to install the 70 Mai A510 dual channel dashcam on my Slavia. Since Slavia comes with 6 airbags, are there any precautions I should take while removing the trims for hiding the dashcam wiring, especially the B-pillar trims ?

I am going to install the dashcam and connect it to the 12V charging point and not the fusebox. Has anyone who has done this on their Slavia pls share some pointers ? I am planning to get this done by an accessory shop. Any pointers for specific accessory shops in Bengaluru who are good at this ? Preferably in Sarjapur, HSR, Bellandur or Koramangla.

I want to avoid anything that might cause the warranty to be voided and also don't want to negatively impact side curtain airbag deployment.

EDGE car accessories is where a bunch of BHpians have gone for installation of dashcam. They are also recommended by 70mai official distributor.

They are in HSR layout itself.

We replaced our Verna 1.5 years ago and I wanted to purchase a Slavia then, but we ended up going with the XUV700 (and it's a fantastic car).

We then replaced our EcoSport six months ago, and I desperately wanted to do so with a Slavia, but it was not to be. We ended up purchasing the XUV400 (which I'm also very happy with).

It was decided at the beginning of this month that the family needs another car, and my brother immediately started throwing out feelers for the Windsor, but I threw consensus out the window and went ahead and booked a Slavia Prestige 1.0 AT in Lava Blue guise.

It's done. I'm a Skoda Slavia owner now. Haha!

Thanks to all of you who have been complaining incessantly about the car in this thread. I've followed it for two years, ever since the vehicle was announced, and you've all made this decision much harder than it needed to be. I say this with affection, of course!

My biggest reason for buying this car, beyond everything else that I also like about it, is the way it looks on the road. My, what a looker it is! I cannot believe I was able to purchase such a stunningly beautiful vehicle for under ₹18 lac.

Now that I've purchased it, I intend to take it straight from the dealership to the detailing shop when it is delivered, to get some of the parts painted black like in the Sportline and Monte Carlo variants, and to apply PPF to it.

I want to know what else I can do to enhance its looks. I definitely intend to get the brake calipers painted red. Should I consider changing the alloys and tires for looks and better performance (especially in terms of ride comfort)?

Congratulations on your new ride!! Lava Blue definitely looks elegant and timeless!

The first thing I did was to upgrade the tires right out of showroom to Continental UC6, you would also get a good deal if the factory tires have less miles on them. Been using UC6s for 4 years on my Polo and 1 year old Slavia and they're great.

I got the installation done from Edge Car accessories in HSR yesterday. They charged me ₹800 rupees and the installation took ~20 minutes. They hid the wires behind the trims in A and C pillar for the front and rear dash camera respectively. There is a slight gap because of the wires that were inserted but it takes a trained eye to see that. The dashcam works flawlessly.

My Slavia active MT 1.0 is now past the 30k mark. The car had its first unscheduled repair with a clutch replacement. While it was not a dire situation I felt difficulties on many an uphill stretch immediately after speedbrakers etc. There would also be a sudden unexplained loss of acceleration. The replacement worked out to 37k rs IIRC and cured all the above issues. I'm hesitant to blame Skoda since I frequently switch between a knackered family Innova and the Slavia. This might have caused unintended driving habits. The car was exposed to many, many bad roads in the past few months and has held up extremely well. The alignment remains arrow straight despite the beating it has taken. The suspension has shown no sign of hardening and remains as supple as ever. The windshield cracked after being hit by an errant pebble and cost 21k for replacement. The dealership was very helpful in ordering a replacement hsrp sticker for the new windshield. This is something that the owner cannot do on his or her own for cars sold after a certain date. IIRC 2021. There are no disturbing squeaks or rattles and 2.0 platform is as robust as earlier products. The oil consumption tendency has stopped after the first service and there is no substantial reduction at the dipstick. The news of the possible Skoda/Mahindra tie up is heartbreaking for me. I have no intention of ever buying an SUV in my life for reasons which are too many to list here. We have always taken affordable German engineered sedans for granted ever since the octavia made it to our shores. In the long run I will consider a used Audi/Merc/BMW to replace the Slavia. But thankfully those days are far, far in the future.

Since the 1.5 MT has been discontinued in September, has anyone spoken to any of the showrooms for discounts on older 1.5 MT variants, if they're in stock?
Would be great to snag them at good discounts if possible

The engine was apparently in Transit mode. So the revs and speed were limited. The technician also told me because its in transit mode, he couldn't inspect any of the sensors. He did all of this by using his OBD dongle. He told that the dealership will unlock the car post payment (which I will do tomorrow). The guys at the stockyard told me not to drive the car at all. Although they drove it for a tiny distance so that we could do the PDI in broad daylight.

Is this normal ?

P.S. I saw a so many of Taiguns and some really old Slavias and Kushaqs in the stockyard gathering dust

Hey, which showroom was this? I asked my guy for a PDI and he said no one is allowed inside the stockyard and that he will have to get the car to showroom for a PDI if I insisted. Being nice I didn't insist.

While I got a Slavia 1L AT, since this was my first car my initial thoughts were to go with the MT. All my Slavia TDs were with MT. One thing that repeatedly popped up in my research were the clutch failures in Slavia/Kushaq quite early, under 40K Kms even for experienced drivers. Found of plenty of posts on FB, Twitter and surprisingly on LinkedIn where customers were complaining about clutch replacement quite early. I don't think you should be blaming yourself here for the clutch issues.

I shudder to think what is going to happen to sedans going forward considering M&M is a pure SUV maker. Sedans days are numbered.

This was PPS Skoda Rajajinagar, they are right beside the Mahalaxmi Metro. They let me do a thorough PDI, just told me not to drive the car. No one was there beside us while we did the PDI so we were able to plug an OBD to check the engine but the car was in transit mode so it wasn't of much use. They behaved like they had nothing to hide which is how it should be. Their stockyard was in Yelahanka, quite far from where I live.

Let me know if you need the contact of the manager at PPS Skoda Rajajinagar. He's a family friend, I took delivery of my car within 2 weeks of booking it. I get no commission etc, just doing it because he was really prompt with scheduling TDs and my purchase experience was good.
