Re: Skoda Slavia Review

Which Variant of Skoda Slavia to buy?

Yesterday I booked Skoda Slavia 1.0 Sportline/Prestige MT in Lava Blue. But not yet decided on which variant to finally pick.
I decided on Sportline. But the sales manager gave me a great deal on Prestige. The on-road price difference is only 1 lac and I got almost 4 lacs (inc. exchange bonus) on my existing Rapid.
But to be honest, I don’t think I will use most of the features included in Prestige. And one big letdown for me in prestige is digital IC. I prefer old school speedometer and a tachometer.
While my better half has her eyes on Prestige, I am still thinking about Sportline.

I got only exchange bonus of INR 40K, and no other discount like corporate discount, loyalty discount etc.,was given. Can I get some of these?

Any suggestions in this regard are most welcome.

Firstly, congratulations! The Slavia is a great car and I have had a good experience for the past 1 year I have owned the car and covered 21k kms(1.5 DSG).

Mine is an Ambition variant or now called as Signature I believe and trust me this is the most value for money variant on sale, not to mention the nicer looking alloys and analog cluster you get with car. The cherry on top is the cool ~ 2lakh rupees you save. Additionally the 2024 variant gets six airbags as standard and also gets the 10 inch infortainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. I would strongly urge you to buy the Signature and save the additional money towards fuel.

The only major difference feature wise is the missing sunroof, ventilated seats, auto dimming IRVM and digital cluster. But this is a personal choice and I didi not really need those features when I bought my Slavia.

I am more interested in Sportline. Ex-showroom is merely 6k more than Signature. Sportline has everything that I need. Skoda is giving 4 lacs for Rapid on Prestige but 3 lacs on Sportline, which brought an on-road price difference of just INR 1 lac. I guess they need to clear Prestige’s stock, that is why there are huge discounts. I guess I can persuade them for an additional 40k on Prestige as a Corporate Discount or some other discount. Moreover, I have also approached another showroom at Chandigarh, and waiting for their better offer as I have told them what I am getting already.
I think for an additional 40-50k off, Prestige is a better option.

I think they are giving you less money for your rapid, cars have gotten very expensive and so have the used cars, try selling your car yourself to spinny, cars24, olx auto etc. They will quote low but once make them wait they will keep on increasing the price.

VW offer was 2.0 lacs for same car. Car24 valued it at 1.6 to 2.1 lacs. Believe me, I have tried.

If the difference is less than a lakh between the two variants choose the Prestige. When I bought my Slavia the Ambition aka Signature had a higher exchange bonus than the Style aka Prestige. I got a total discount of 1.8 lakhs (Aug 2023) for the Ambition 1.5DSG and paid 18.2 on road in Chennai. The Style 1.0 AT was 20k more.

Also at that time the on road price difference between the two variants with the 1.5 DSG was more than 2.25 lakhs which I felt was a waste of money.

What is the OTR, and were you offered any discounts at all, considering that this is a newer variant?

The difference is 1 lac without a Corporate discount. With CD it might come down to around 60k.
I have raised the query with Sales personnel as to why CD was not offered despite being written on the website.

It depends, if your organisation is there in the list of organisations, that qualify for the corporate discount, they will add it. Additionally hope you have asked them for a loyalty bonus. You are moving from one Skoda to another so please ask for that too.

When I bought my Slavia they had a scheme for additional 25k discount if one of my immediate family members owned a Skoda. In my case they did not and also my organisation was not on their list of organisations qualifying for the corporate discount as well.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

I just downloaded the latest brochure for Slavia and it seems like Monte Carlo now comes with two more colour options, carbon steel and Brilliant Silver along with the earlier ones, red and white. I haven’t checked with dealers yet, anyone else heard about the new Monte Carlo colour options?

I think only one discount is applicable. Corporate or Loyalty. I am eligible for both as my organization is on their list. But both are not mentioned in the quotation they gave me.

I have informed the sales personnel about this. Waiting for their confirmation.

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

I need advice on one more thing. The discounts offered to me by Skoda are for November only. Sales guy is trying to sell the car to me in November.
Should I go with the purchase in November or should I wait for December offers.

The best discounts are usually in December to February time. The discounts will increase in December for sure.

Do note Skoda will start producing MY2025 cars in 2024 December. So current year models will have more discounts. But you may lose out on features. Last year VAG updated the cars with 6 airbags standard and powered seats without any significant price hike. The difference was in the extent of discounts being offered.

Thank you @supernova105. Not much in terms of discounts other than 40k Loyalty Bonus and 40k exchange bonus. Their exchange price was so ridiculous that bonus was not worth it. Prestige model also has free service pack and extended warranty which this misses out.

I paid approx 22.4L on road, Bangalore being the most expensive car taxed city in India. This excluded service pack and extended warranty for which I paid extra. The car was in the stock yard for a maximum of 2 days in total, after which it was with me. That was the peace of mind factor, thanks to being a newly launched trim. My main fancy towards Monte Carlo trim was the dark themed interiors which looks like premium luxury IMO. Virtus GT was 1.25L more expensive than this and I did not see any incremental benefit for this premium.

I have one question for the senior owners here, I don't see the ECO light on the instrument panel next to distance to empty kms, when on ACT mode. It shows 2 cylinder mode only in the economy display. Am I missing some settings here or that's the standard in Slavia?

Re: Skoda Slavia Review

I happened to look for some information on Slavia and bumped into the new owner's manual for Skoda Slavia on the official Skoda website . I was surprised to see a new manual for Skoda Slavia with the issue date as 11.11.2024 and got curious to see if there is anything new for MY25 version.

So, here is what I found.

1) Frontal Radar Sensor (marked as E) is new.

2) A couple of Radar Assist sensors are new inside the rear bumper (marked as D)

3) On the inner side of the rearview wing mirrors (both sides), warning indicator light for lane change assist and side assist are new (marked as G).

If these are to be believed, it should be for
1) Side Assist (demo video below)

2) Lane Assist (demo video below)

3) Front Assist (demo video below)

So, finally we have a use case discovered for that dummy button on the steering wheel (in the top right hand side spoke)

Okay, now the question is WHEN will this be launched? If this has to be believed, it looks like production should have already begun on 11.11.2024. Fingers crossed.
