Wow !! That is some pricing from GM. I too expect the LT to sell better but you never know with our Indian car buying customers.

ps - will the Civic prices in the used car market see a down trend ?

Welcome Chevrolet Cruze: Launched at Rs 10.99L-12.45L

GM unravels Chevrolet Cruze priced at Rs 10.99L-12.45L

NEW DELHI: US car maker General Motors on Monday launched its luxury sedan Chevrolet Cruze in India at an introductory price ranging from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 12.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

"The Cruze has been receiving rave reviews since its recent debut in some other markets. We expect it to perform well against the established D-segment players," General Motors India President and Managing Director Karl Slym told reporters here.

The company has rolled out the car with a 2.0 litre diesel engine in two different variants. It claims that the car would give a mileage of 18.3 kilometre per litre, according to the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) standards.

The Cruze is currently being rolled out in many countries across the globe.

"GM's investments in manufacturing the Cruze in India is a demonstration of our sustained commitment to making Chevrolet the most admired and preferred vehicle brand in this country," Slym added.

The company had earlier said that the diesel version of Cruze would be followed with the roll out of a 1.8 litre petrol variant in the months to come.

GM has launched the car at a very good price and will cause a shake out in the Executive Segment. It will a battle royale worth watching.

beautiful pricing. I'm sure very soon Chevy will remap the ECU to reduce lag (just like they did it in the later Magnums)

GM seems to have got the pricing spot on. And the 3 year warranty makes it a sweet deal. Hope the after sales experience and service are taken care of well. Fresh looking car. Definately lots of takers for this. Not to mention the economy of diesel.

If you are not a gizmo freak, the 10.99 for LT is amazing.
Let see what LT does not get w.r,t LTZ
==================
So what do you get in LT.
You get a car with discs all around with ABS and Airbags, and a decent music system. No Gizmos, but for 10.99 lakhs, this is incredible value!

LT looks to become the variant of choice.
If you look at the XLS, the LTZ undercuts the Laura Base variant by 50K
and am happy that GM has done a Fortuner with the pricing, now we can look at the loooooooong waiting periods!

Excellent package and that too VFM deal!

Thanks Caramelo
Yeah I asked him, he said should be around 13.2 but when I told him he was totally shocked and I guess happy to hear the prices
Also, these are introductory prices, clearly GM wants to make a statement that they are not dead and buried yet and an introductory offer means they want to show high booking numbers like with the fortuner.

Mouthwatering price. In the 10 - 15Lakhs, there is virtually no diesel options at all in the lower end of the bracket i.e in 10 - 12.5L range. GM hit that spot with the pricing of Cruze. This is now serious threat for Altis, Civic, etc. Even someone considering Honda City can stretch his budget a bit and go for a diesel Cruze.

Hmmm, good pricing, the diesel Corolla is on its way here in April 2010 with the 1.4 turbo, but that wont be as powerful as the Cruze. Interesting, GM has the diesel market to itself till then.

Pricing is too Good. All GM has to do is to launch an auto version above the LTZ variant.

I think they will come out with an AT version in the LTZ itself with a petrol motor for company maybe next year. If the AT comes even a 50k premium over it manual counterpart, it should be good value.

Same happened to me when I bought Captiva LTZ recently. I got more "insider" info right here in these forums and the dealer had no clue about it! Maybe these dealers and related honchos should join these forums

10.99 is a great pricing and LT is a reasonably loaded model. Lets hope this car gives GM the success it deserves - and hope GM ups it game when it comes to service and spares

This should be about 13.5L OTR Bangalore for LT?
