People were speculating a launch at 14 lakhs and some even more because its diesel but its launched at 1.5 lakhs less at 12.5 for the top-end version with sunroof and leather, and 10.99 for the LT which is 3 lakhs less than predicted.

Diesel is such a huge issue here on this forum, and now when you get this awesomely powerful 150bhp diesel in a throughly modern car that looks good, has reported decent handling, decent interiors and some nice new tech one would think most folks would be thrilled.
+1 to what you said. Win some, lose some. This however, is a 90% win-win situation. GM played quite some trick to keep the pricing a secret. During their employee training programme for the cruze, the employees were told that the base model would hover around 12L ex showroom and then they flatly launched it at 1L less. Kudos! The cruze's a rocket ship.
How I wish it was time for me to buy a new car.
Anyone on the forum who's booked till now?

I think for everyone who sets off to buy a vehicle, he/she looks for more positives than negatives. This car IMO, has more positives than negatives even when compared to the competition.

I'm trying best to convince my father to sell off his SX4 and get this one but I think he would wait for Auto version of Cruze which will cost around 13.5-14 at the most.

Wonderful car at a wonderful price.
Hope GM achieves success with this car.

It's cheaper than the Hondas/Toyotas AND it's a diesel! What else do ya need.

Only gripe is the mileage @ 10-14kmpl ... hope it doesn't drive people away.

The mileage is around 18.XX as per as ARAI and it's easily one of the best! (Best by a long shot for engine this powerful). I think TD vehicle is abused and the average is invariably low.

where did you get this one? Tanveer's review says no matter how you floor it, it still returns 10 at least. This means you can comfortably get 11+ in the city with decent driving. Its darn good mileage for a 150 bhp car of this size.

I hope they release auto of both versions - LT and LTZ. LT auto should come at 11.6 ex-showroom and that would be one hell of a car.

GM deserves success for this car. I wish them all the best

OT: Diesel Optra (LS) is now at 8.49 lakhs. Verna and Fiesta and to some extent may be Linea too might just feel the heat?

I believe even the cheaper Verna (or ex-Getz CRDI) should be able to do this.

The Cruze brochure in Chevrolet India website shows a GPS navigation system (page 10 of the brochure) in the Accessories section. But unlike other accessories mentioned in the same page, it has no further description - just an image. Is this something that is "coming soon" in some trim ?

How is the seating comfort in Cruze when compared to Altis, Jetta and Laura ?

Has anyone driven Cruze in congested city roads ? How is the handling ?

Way to GO Chevy India! I have so much respect and love for Chevy India after their bold comeback. they are like true warriors - fight till death; one defeat did not set them back. I was sure they will get the price right and they have done their best! Now this pricing puts a wide grin on my face. How will SX4 Diesel be priced when launched?! Same goes with Linea if they launch a 1.6 / 1.9. Verna and Fiesta are gonna feel the same heat. All this means customers get MUCH better prices and huge options. CONGRATS and ALL THE BEST CHEVY INDIA for this brilliant car. You ROCK!

Yes. Seems cruze is redefining the segments Lower Optra to 8Lacs, lowering Aveo to 7Lacs. Any changes in UVA? May be once Beat is out.
