Good to hear that you are planning for Beat LT.
Consider LT(O) if your budget permits.
If you are not in a hurry, then wait for the Diesel Beat.

Have a look at my initial ownership thread also

Yes its worth to wait for the Diesel, heard that pricing will be around 5L Ex Shw. and surely it will be a mile eater with the 4 pot 1litre diesel (57BHP/145.2 NM)with a decent FE of 21kpl approx

Overall its a good family car if can compromise with the boot space and limited thigh support for rear seats. Not to mention, very low hung placed front bumber scrapes almost every road dips if you don't drive carefully. I haven't seen any of the owners have mentioned about this. My front bumper bottom is almost scrapped fully (may be my careless driving) but it placed too low for our road conditions.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Nah, already got a 3 yr old Diesel Swift so Im planning on going for a petrol car. Unless the Diesel version of the Beat is something really special, Im sticking to petrol.

Oh and for those wondering the Moroccan Blue has definitely been discontinued. I asked two different dealers why and they both didnt answer and just started telling me what other colour option were there

If you are really interested in Moroccan Blue, I can confirm this from a known one in the Beat project at Talegaon. Here in Chennai, I got to know from Sundaram Motors that now the maximum bookings are for Sand Drift Grey. I also got SD Grey and you may assume this as a marketing campaign for this colour.

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Just came across a thread regarding lock code of HU.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...-titanium.html

Does the Beat stock HU too has such a code. I peeled off the 4 digit sticker pasted on the HU and I dont remember the numbers.

Even i did the same.
Would it initially have a common lock code like 1234 or 0000?

Are you sure that it's a 4 pot? I heard it's a 3 pot 1L engine.. but heard that vehicle performance in testing is good..everything depends once its on road..

Every system has a unique code and I did not even know about this. I panicked initially because I too peeled off the sticker without noting down the number.

But then, Team-BHP has saved me. I took pictures of my HU before I took off the sticker to post it in my initial ownership report and one of them has the 4 digit code. TBHP to you

You saved me of troubles rsramkee, after reading your post I remembered that my cousin had taken some pictures of interiors the day my Beat came (he was fascinated by the Blue lighting). Checked those pics and found the code number. Thanks to you (and my cousin).

AFAIK, it is a 3 pot developed from the Fiat 1.3 multijet engine (by reducing one cylinder)
Definitely it will be a game changer for GM.
There is a separate thread in TBHP regarding this:

Re: Chevrolet Beat : Test Drive & Review

Hi All. I recently bought the 4 Gen IPod Touch and when I connected it via the USB port, the HU did not detect it. Has anyone faced this issue and whats the take on this

I do not have an Ipod so have not tried it but the information I have is the Ipod will not work through USB in the HU of the Beat. It will work through the AUX cable.
