Yes taxes are really high in Bangalore. However I wanted to register it in Bangalore itself as I want my wife to have a hassle free driving in the city.

The actual price will be less with the discounts. That was an approximate figure to capture the context.

Does your AT have ABS as in previous version ? Asking because there is some confusion about this in the brochures/online material.

Great. Congrats !! There is some confusion about the hand break. Pictures show a break pedal where there should be nothing (where clutch would be in manual). So there is a talk here that the hand break might have been replaced with some leg break. Pictures from you would do a great deal of good. I am also looking to book an A-Star auto for my wife but none of the dealers in Bangalore seem to have a refreshed car. I don't want to book the car without seeing one in person.

Thanks, Yes, this model also has ABS. Also they have now written Automatic at the back. Will post pics tomorrow.

Thanks, Simon, don't expect a revolution from Maruti. That too for the lowest priced automatic. The hand break is at it's normal place and the legs have to do with Break and accelerator pedal. Will post pics tomorrow.

Thanks bigwheelz for the clarification. Actually I am sort of relieved that they have not done anything to it. My wife is used to driving manual a bit. She might inadvertently try to push the non-existent clutch with her left foot. If Maruti has a break there, then it could be dangerous. Happy to know that they have not attempted something like that. Waiting for your pics.

Congrats bigwheelz. The onroad price quoted is after discounts? I bought my silky silver around a year back, on road price quoted in Trivandrum (before discounts) was 4.9 Lakhs.

Feature list for old model is given below, could you please compare with your new model and list the differences?

Re: Maruti Suzuki A-Star Auto - Road Test

Hi bigwheelz. Could you also check and tell us what are the service intervals. First few services are fine but then what is the interval after 1 year. Is it 5k or 10k?

Re: Maruti Suzuki A-Star Auto - Road Test

^^^It's 10K or 1-year for almost all Suzukis including the A-Star, except maybe the M800.

Re: Maruti Suzuki A-Star Auto - Road Test

Thanks supremeBaleno. Good to know. My 4 year old Estilo has 5k/6months service intervals. It is sort of a pain. Thankfully it will be once a year for A star Auto as my wife would be driving it for less than 800 kms per month.

Re: Maruti Suzuki A-Star Auto - Road Test

4-year old means the pre-K10 version, which might be 5K/6mons - is it mentioned in the manual ? Asking because even for the cars with 10K/6months, the dealer insists you bring it in every 6-months, which is basically a way for them to make money.

Checked the manual online at MSIL site for the current K-series Estilo, and the service interval is indeed 10K kms or 1year.

Looks just like my 2011 A*. So what has changed in 2012? Does anyone know?

The only big change is that the back seats can be half folded (See the pic). With the earlier A star you had to get the entire back seat down. This is the only big change other than the biege interiors.
