My brother in law owns indica and I have Zen Estlio, we use our vehicle alternate for family trip, whenever we stop to check air pressure, 1. Tire walls says "Sir hava nahi chad raha hai puncture hai" but off course we ask him to check for puncture to avoid break down on road. 2. When he opens the tube, he use to make punctures using hidden pin in his figure somewhere. 3. Then he says sir there are 5/6 puncture, you need to change the tube. 600 Rs 4. while checking the pin in tire he use to cut the Tyre using screwdriver and says sir you need to patch the tire otherwise new tube will get damaged. 270 Rs (actually price of that patch is 40 Rs) and at the end handover a bill of more than 1000 rupees. This happened with us 3/4 times, in frustration my brother in law went to change all the tires, he thought might be rubber is old however tire showroom person explained us about this trap around the city and on highway and asked to change only one tire which damaged because of the puncture wala's patch. So how you will tackle with situation like this, if punchture wala says the above statement, just ignore him and ask him to leave it as it is. He will insist you to check the puncture but don't lesson to him and just go to another shop. Best practice is to check air pressure on petrol pump only. Thanks, Vishal.

| ![]() The same old trick of asking 'how much petrol' and trying to distract the buyer from looking at the meter was tried on me at the petrol pump opposite Mcdonalds/ near Karishma society in Kothrud. I distracted the attendant by waving a 500 buck note in another direction. When he started dispensing fuel, the meter started at 50 bucks instead of zero but no fuel came out. I closed the tank lid and just stared at him. He sheepishly reset the meter and started all over again. Quote:
Since then, I have been getting air filled at petrol pumps and not had a single puncture. Admittedly, I now park inside my apartment building but even the outdoor parking was not so bad to justify so many punctures. Similar result: Tyre change postponed.

| ![]() Just an experience at the Shell Bunk I had the other day : I filled in petrol, and the actual amount came to something like 2446.xx. However, when I handed over my card, he swiped it for 2449 rupees. So blind was my trust in them , that I didnt notice it and just signed it away. I have both their bill and my slip though, plan to take it up the next time I am there. |

| ![]() That indeed is a good news. Any cut in fuel prices does excite us, innit? @Amit: Was this as of today? Last evening, saw Shell prices to be hovering around Rs. 54.XX, for diesel that is. |

You are correct; there were a few comments about Shell price now being less than Pune city petrol prices. We do pay a lot of tax, as against the subsidy. Money just goes from our pocket somewhere else; anyway thats another story for another day. Summary - For petrol, Shell prices are now less than Pune city normal prices. |
