When Chris and I discussed the restoration, one of the goals was drive this car long distances. Mumbai is definitely on the plan, hopefully post COVID, in the later half of next year. I still have very fond memories on the drive in your Buick, on the way to Hyderabad. Warm regards KPS

Fantastic car to drive and I really enjoyed bringing the car home. She proudly stands ![]() Would like to thank all my friends who have been part of the this journey. Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had a blast with about 175 round trip. Had a mix of highways, country roads and unpaved roads. A test for the all-rounder, who passed with flying colours We leave early morning, the car is cleaning looking forward to explore the country side ![]() The coach line is something that we all love and feel that it enhances the looks ![]() Country Roads taking us to my friend's home! ![]() The scenery, the cloudy skys, light drizzle, enhanced the driving experience ![]() Off we go on the mud roads ![]() The mud roads were little tricky with the recent rains. 1st gear and keeping the lows revvs meant that the car had adequate traction. ![]() Keeping the focus on the roads ! ![]() The car passed in flying colours in every terrain. ![]() The H14 kept company through out the journey ![]() Was able to take some interesting pictures reflecting the terrain ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All set to go back home! ![]() The proof is in the pudding. Back home and ready to be cleaned! ![]() The car was such a joy to drive. Typically over engineered Daimler! Very smooth, more than adequate power and very silent. The mechanical brakes needs some getting used to! Cheers KPS Last edited by KPS : 7th December 2020 at 08:47. |

| ![]() Congratulations on a successful maiden long distance run. ![]() Lovely pictures , brings a smile to the face. ON the subject of mechanical brakes, having used these extensively, I can state with confidence that if correctly restored, they are excellent, stopping distance is minimal, and troublefree. If you feel otherwise, reset them strictly according to the manual after checking that the lengths of cables/rods are correct and thereafter adjust them as instructed. It is a simple system and you should have no issues. |

The brakes is more or an issue with me, as I was probably driving a V&C car after almost 9 months. All the cables are new and adjusted as per the manual. I am sure by the time of my next drive, I should be comfortable. Cheers KPS Last edited by vb-san : 8th December 2020 at 12:50. Reason: Quote tags fixed. Thanks

| ![]() Mr. KPS, read the whole thread today and i don't have words to express my feelings. The details and pictures shared by you took me back in time, what a great explanation of cars journey and towards every single job that was done in process for bringing the car to its glory. Hope to get updates from you as you get to spend more time with your car. If it is ok with you, kindly share details regarding what you spend for buying the car and during various stages of restoration. It will help someone like me to set a financial goal for making a dream to reality. ![]() |

Restoration cost is very subjective and one can easily burn money, unnecessarily. The higher the pecking order of the Marque, more expensive it will be. Mass produced American cars ensure great ownership experiences. All the very best. This morning I fueled up the car and on my way home, took some pictures to celebrate Bangalore! The Garden City of Bangalore is showing off her colours! ![]() The pink trumpet tree is in its annual bloom at Cubbon Park. ![]() Every year this sight bring so much joy to all of us ![]() The Cubbon Park Police Station is a heritage building from 1910 ![]() The Book Society Building is another favorite ![]() Tomorrow, I am off to Sandur, in the Daimler. Should be a 650 kms round trip. As always will share my story here, on my return. Cheers KPS Last edited by KPS : 17th December 2020 at 15:38.
