This is one very OHH REE GEE NAL Delight I'm seeing after a long time!

It looks like she's gone to good hands. Get that sunfilm off, replace the newer numberplate lights to the original aluminium ones and the front parking lights to the white lenses and she'll be the real McCoy!

Oh yeah, would definitely tell the owner about the glaring lack of originality.

Also just wanted to know wheter the air filter would have been DRY type or Oil Bath type?

Hey, this car stands one lane away from my house. Have met the owner a few times. He keeps the car every alternate six months at Vasai.

A neat Select (probably 1958 going by the registration) spotted in Bombay courtesy Kasli

A fine example spotted by me recently in Kolkata. It is a Select with a SS grille. No matter but the car is in a fine shape.

Having recently relocated to Bombay, I've been enjoying seeing the odd Italian Fiat every now and again. Sights like this regular runabout are still seen in some parts. Don't expect this to last though.

While driving to Bombay last Sunday I was pleasantly surprised to see this Super Select on the Expressway. I remember the car, it was lying in a couple of garages for years getting restored. The outcome looks pretty neat.

Sighted this beautiful Fiat 1100D from 1965, in Bhopal yesterday morning. The blue dialled speedo is getting rarer these days. The owner came and met me while I was clicking pictures.I complimented him and told him that the car is quite original. The beauty needs to be kept that way. There are a few very minor alterations that can be restored with a little effort.Again must say that Mumbai is the Mecca for Fiat restorations or spare sourcing.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are notorious for making old number alterations compulsory even if these are from the same state. Look at that. It must have been a MPB series (or MPC? less likely- MPC followed MPB in Bhopal) that has been changed to MP04!

Nice Delight, Anjan ! The steering and the blue speedo looks awesome..
Is the colour shade original ? Don't remember any Delights in this shade.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or do I see clip-type wheels ??

@Karl - Sweet Super Select - really standing out amid the rough and tumble of the expressway !

Thanks Ravi. Right, the colour is not original.
The roof rack is period from the 1960's. Its shape is awkward.
The switches below the speedo console are from the Padmini- not the original metal toggle ones mounted on small ribbed aluminium plates on either sides.
The front grille too does not go with the blue dialled speedo. The grille of the earliest 1100 D was also of aluminium but had square shaped, grid-like pattern and not this one which came around 1967.

This is one nice, original, untouched early delight- as you say, very few fittings changed!!

I guess its hard to find an old car this original in that part of the country.

Let's hope it stays in the same hands- or atleast passes onto similar ones!

Yup those indeed are the clip rims. The Delights too had them until around 1968 IIRC, my '67 Delight (now karl's!) certainly had them.
