I think Ravi (Super Select) had posted these pictures earlier somewhere on the forum. But I am not sure, hence posting at your request.

Today, next to my tinkers place an Elegent came for body work, the car looked uncared for but then the beauty lies in the original details. Here are the pictures.

Descriptions I think are not required. There wer many other original stuff like wheel caps petrol tank cap, starter motor, dynamo etc etc.

What a superb car Manish! Why do say uncared for, probably unused for a long long period. If she was uncared for, half the parts on her would be missing? Try to meet the owner and find more details about the car. Could be a late 56 early 57 going by the rims.

Yes Ravi, I was over joyed to see such an original car. She was worked upon some 6-8 years ago.

And with very few stuff missing, this car is the most original I have seen.

re: Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)

I must say that I had one of the FIAT beauties, all original SUPER SELECT, sold 6 years back. I can say mine was all original after going through the thread and moreover I can clearly remember that once a head lamp bulb was replaced and the fused one was original Italian. I loved that car and we had kept it well, but I was too young to stop it from being sold.
Trying to locate the person it was sold to..will try to RECLAIM it.

Also had a FIAT wagon. We used to jump start it almost every time....!

No Manish....no photos..I know its a pity
But had no camera in those days.
I will surely take some as soon as I got to find the owner of that. Don't know in what condition is she right now!!!
Wish I could relocate the car.

re: Restored Fiats (Super Select & Others)

Just early this week, I came across this nice Millecento, almost completely original but for a few bits (viz. tail-lights, floor gear-shift etc.) most of which look like they've been changed recently.

'happened to meet the owner, Mr. Johnson, who was sitting in the car then.

He was very happy to chat with me. 'said it was recently bought for him to move around in by his son, who chose this car to replace a newer car they had!

I'd invited him for the 26th Jan show, which was just the next day. He didnt turn up, although we did exchange contact numbers.

The 'cowls' on both the meters seem to be bakelight ones...or aluminium painted to look like the original bakelight ones.

This car even seems to have the small headlights intact.
