| ![]() Anyone with recent experience on driving from Bangalore to Chennai. TN has e-pass for valid reasons. Other than getting it, is there any other restrictions especially given both states are in relaxing lockdowns? I have an unavoidable reason to travel this week. Don't want to venture train or air. (Recently recovered from covid). |

Yes, we did (me and wife). I planned and travelled on 17th Jun. Applied TN e-pass a day before (15th night), the website collected lot of info including medical report, id for verification, license etc. But it got auto approved. No preparation for KA side. Took two copies and pasted one on windshield (as instructed by e-pass site). Started at 8 a.m. took Sarjapur - attibelle route as it was already late start didn't go for silk board/Hosur rd) There were multiple barricades on TN side (some with cops) but never had to stop anywhere. Couple of places including the Hosur border the police was checking and stopping few. I think pasting e-pass in windshield helped me. And no traffic being weekday and lockdown. 5 hrs from HSR to Tambaram including 30 mins breakfast at A2B before Krishnagiri. Note : since inter district within TN also needs e-pass, it was a common site of cars with e-pass pasted in windshield. You won't be odd one out and called for checking. What medical report is required? Is it a Covid test report and there is a blank to attach a travel reason document, any idea what document is that?

| ![]() One of my friend traveled from Bangalore to Madras on Saturday due to his relative death reasons. And returned from Madras to Bangalore yesterday evening. His update: With ePass no checks anywhere, however in return TN registered cars were checked in Attibelle border while entering KA and also near Silk Board. -Ravi |

Covid report is not required. If you are selecting medical emergency then attach doctors appointment or anything related. |

Looks like anything would do when you take medical emergency category. Not any covid test report. Moreover, its an auto approval. I am not sure if cops access these forms and cross verify during the travel. If you are stopped by any chance (doesn't seem to be the case, just incase) have the same convincing reason with copy of reports. But given both states are getting to more relaxation, shouldn't be any issue for next few weeks at least. |

Are you by any chance quoting curfew hours? I'm a little confused.

It should be night time curfew. Haven't heard of cases rising in AP for a day curfew now. Last edited by tharian : 30th June 2021 at 08:52. |

| ![]() Even with night curfew on, i guess, there should be no restrictions in NH4 and in highways. We will not be entering Chittoor town anyways and will be sticking to highways only. So i am hoping there should be no problem. I am planning to drive this friday, lets see how it goes. -Ravi |
