Election time and night driving has no such excuses like traveling with family or senior citizens and they have their eyes on everyone.

| ![]() HI Guys - need suggestion for a good hotel near Krishnagiri for breakfast. I am starting from Chennai towards Salem via Krishnagiri and i need to catchup with my friend who is driving from Bangalore. I am expecting it might take upto 3.5 hours from Chennai and 2 hours from Bangalore to reach Krishnagiri. We intend to stop for breakfast and proceed towards Salem. So looking for decent hotel with washrooms. I see lot of hotels towards Hosur-Krishnagiri road, but i would prefer to not to go and come back on the same route. Are there any good hotels in Krishnagiri-Chennai part or Krishnagiri-Salem route which we can plan to meet for breakfast? Last edited by concorde24 : 10th April 2021 at 14:50. |

In all my trips towards Chennai, Mahabalipuram and Pondicherry I used to drive further south of Krishnagiri just to have breakfast at this outlet, and then return to join the Chennai highway. They now have couple of outlets before Krishnagiri too, each on either sides of the highway, suitable for folks branching towards Chennai. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/KqmouymcA5izgVtS9 Further down towards Salem perhaps the next best options are Sai Sangeet or A2B near Thoppur toll booth (~70 km from Krishnagiri).

I was about the recommend the same. This one is a branch of Pollachi's Amutha Surabhi restaurant and serves excellent food. Rest rooms are okay type, not bad. With this option, both of you don't need to take any detour. -Ravi

| ![]() Hi folks, I am planning a quick roundtrip to Chennai today. Are there any restrictions at the borders I need to prepare for? |

I did stop at Hotel Sree Saravana Bhavan which was in a perfect location and both of us did not have to take detour. Clear washrooms and decent parking. Road conditions from Chennai to Krishnagiri was good - Had lot of traffic and diversions till Vellore and beyond that it was a breeze. Not sure if it is already late, there was no checking on border from KA to TN.

| ![]() Nemili-Thirumazhisai turnoff is now full resurfaced. Its likely Chennasamudram-Nemili would be done along with the 6-laning. Quite a few diversions on the sector. Some of the patches in Krishnagiri-Hosur and Ambur are now fully done up. |

How is the turnoff from Poonamallee High Road to Thirumazhisai / Thiruvallur etc? Has that been relaid yet, or better still, slightly widened? |

| ![]() Hello, Did anyone travel back to Bangalore in the last couple of days (post the Karnataka lockdown) from Chennai? Do I need a pass for the interstate travel to Karnataka? |

However, i won't recommend to travel to KA during lockdown, unless you have a real emergency. Just FYI - Last year during sunday lockdown, my friend drove from Madras to Bangalore, but he was stopped in Attibelle and asked to go back. So he drove back all the way to Madras again ![]() So during lockdowns, i would suspect police won't allow you to enter KA unless you have a really strong reason and emergency with proof to justify. -Ravi

Pass registration is not required. However, as Ravi mentioned below, its a hit or miss when you travel over weekend (when weekend lockdown was there). My cousin travelled from KL through Bandipur, they were not checked for any other details apart from RTPCR report. However, as they neared Bangalore, they were stopped multiple locations and asked why they were traveling on weekend and at one place they too were asked to return back. However, after bit of convincing they were let through. Now, with 14 days lockdown and restrictions on inter state travel, it may be best avoided if possible. |

| ![]() One of my friend drove from Salem to Bangalore via Attibelle today 3rd May morning around 8 am and he didn't face any problem or checks. He was able to get to his home without issues. So it may be possible that checks are not very strict in Attibelle border. But you never know when they will stop and when they won't. -Ravi |
