No, but you need an ID proof for all flights these days.

Also, as ranjitp mentioned, you need to ensure that you avoid the customs queue at Hyderabad.

The check-in would close for the flight 1 hour before departure. I once almost missed such a flight because i assumed it'll close check-in only 45 min before departure.

Thanks for the help, Ranjit. Yes, though we can get help in India, can this be extended to other airports too? Just cause dad sometimes gets too anxious if he feels that he is late or has missed some information.

Don't know the airports yet cause tickets haven't been booked. I will get back when I do get information on this.

Hi Naveen,

In my opinion the best thing to do is to ask for a wheelchair service from the airline when you book the tickets.

This way they will be escorted all along and also be transported to the proper gate during transit. Another benefit is that they will also not have to walk long distances.

As per my knowledge all airlines provide this service across all transit airports and at no extra cost.

The benefit as I mentioned earlier is that your parents will not have to walk long distances and will be spared the anxiety of finding the right gate. The attendants will do all that.

I have seen in Frankfurt and Amsterdam that they use electric Golf carts.

Ask your travel agent and he will be able to clarify any doubts.

I need to be carrying a 42 inch tv from delhi to bbsr. Airline options are Indigo and Air India. Had the following questions:
Is it allowed?
Will it charged extra? I will have minimum other luggage.
Should I inform them in advance?
Will they break it?
Which airline?

I'd say Indigo. I have carried not TV, but other delicate electronic equipment (printers and such) and they have been very considerate. Just pack the unit properly with the original thermocol cushions or bubble wrap, take to the checkin counter and ask them to attach a "Fragile" sticker on it. They'll make you sign an indemnity and accept it. Regular baggage limits will apply (which is 20 kg per passenger, iirc).

Check with the airline beforehand, though.

Planning to buy some perfumes and such stuffs at Dubai airport for cousins and friends back home. Unfortunately, Dubai is a transit point for me and hence I cant put those into check-in baggage. My question is how much quantity/pieces of perfumes/colognes can I take in cabin baggage? Is it allowed at all?

Did the Mum-Hyd sector .Air India 050.

Checked in at sahar ,filled the form for domestic ,cleared immigration (pretty straight forward)

Boarded the bus which did like a 3km run to take us to the plane (parked near the santa cruz terminal,my wife starting wondering as to we doing a road trip to hyderabad)

Nice spacious plane which was like 30% occupied ,take off on time.

Good option i must say.( Mumbai traffic around sahar airport is a big annoyance though ,all dug up due to the ongoing metro rail work)

There is no limit to the amount of shopping you can do at duty free at dubai. for any liquid items they may ask you to pay for the product purchased and issue you a receipt. You will be handed the bags with your purchase articles right before boarding. That is what is followed at JFK so I guess it must be the same in Dubai too.
