I had asked about condition of Maddur-Malavalli recently on the forum and the response was that it's good now, so I think your idea of avoiding Maddur-Mandya-Srirangapatna and to reach Mysore via Maddur-Malavalli-Mysore Ring Road is good, you also get to eat at your favourite restaurant
Which restaurant is that ?

Its our favorite as well...some reasons
1. Not crowded as much as the next door Shivalli
2. Good and prompt service
3. We love the dosas there and my daughter the curd vada
4. Very good Maddur vada which we pack for the harrowing travel back to Bangalore
5. Meraki parlor next door which has some good milkshakes and ice-cream
6. Finally, the greenery with Mango trees all around

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Can anyone shed some light on the present condition of the Mysore - Ooty Road? I need to visit the Brigade Developers residential project there (I think its called Brigade Mountain View) and last time I used the road, a few years back, going to Coorg, there was lot of flyover construction work ongoing.

Any update on the condition of the road and any diversions to watch out for? I will be taking the right turn from the highway onto Ring Road before entering Mysore city (at the Columbia Asia junction).

The road is now completed.
Do not take the right turn at Columbia Asia Hospital Junction, take a left turn there and a right turn at the signal which joins ooty road and this road leads you to Brigade Mountain View.

This caught my sight. I remember going to them in Bangalore when some of their outlets closed.

Now with Mysore road being crowded food court that it is; its increasingly getting difficult to go to a set place. If you find one crowded, you look to the next! And the places one has in mind gets lost in the crowd.

Will try Kadambam, whenever we head out that way.

Just to be clear , I was referring to Indradansuh as I feel Kadambam lost their touch in recent times

Not worth it, well past their prime, more like some small local eatery now, had posted about our experience at Kadambam sometime in 2017 I think on this thread.
Indradanush is good and there's a Coffee Day and Shivalli MTR also nearby.
.

Agree on Indradhanush being very good. My usual stop used to be Kamat Lokaruchi, but that has now become a fish market with it being crowded at all times on any day. Once I came across Indradhanush a few years back, it has become my regular stop. Best part is that the parking space is wide open and plentiful, and there are a plethora of food options (apart from Indradhanush) in that complex.

Like said, It is not worth it now. I tend to stop there just because I have been doing it for past several years. Now I stop there just to have a quick tea and use rest room. It also lost the nice tree shades it had in front to make way for road widening work. So not a good place to stop by during a hot day. Their Maddur Vada is still tasty. So stop if you drive by in the early mornings or late evenings to have a quick sip of tea and vada.

Pongal is also very good at Indradhanush, they serve it with 3-4 different condiments. I have been a regular at this place for the last 3-4 years. It is quite spacious with prompt service. Plenty of parking space and the open space, greenery and mild breeze around makes it peaceful and relaxed.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Planning Mys visit tomorrow morning.
Anyone used the Nelligere - Pandavapura route recently? The route had some expansion work going on back in December. Is it done now?
If not, I'll be taking the regular highway. Any good restaurants around Madduru-Mandya for breakfast?
TIA!

Not sure about the current status but overall it should be fine since very small sections had ongoing work. However, if you start early, just take Bangalore-Mysore SH 17/NH 275 route.
Plenty of restaurants around Maddur - Indradanush, Shivalli MTR, Maddur Tiffanys, Adigas, Thimmadas, etc. Most of them open around 6:30-6:45am, so a 5-5:30am start should be good enough.
If taking the Nelligere route, Swathi Delicacy at Koppa (near Yediyur) will be the best option.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Seems like Bangalore - Mysore road widening work is slowly starting.

Noticed last weekend that both sides of road has been levelled at multiple places between Bangalore - Mandya.
Hope Kanakapura - Mallavalli widening work gets over before this picks up fully, else it is going to be tough.
