Absolutely none although there were the regular roadblocks set up before entering Mandya & Channapatna although according to him, none of them were manned at the time. He was actually bound for Hyderabad and he reached his destination at around 10:00am next day. Was driving a Wagon R.

My neighbor's mentioned that his relative travelled to Bangalore from Mysore couple of days back. They left Mysore at 4AM and reached Bangalore by 8AM.
No checking at any checkposts.

Looks like we can travel inter-district within the relaxation period between 6AM-10AM.

I might travel to Bangalore next week. Will update.

Travelled yesterday from Bangalore to Mysore with my family (Wife & daughter) for my mom's health emergency.
Left Hebbal around 7 PM and was in Mysore by 9:30 PM, took the Bellur cross - Nagamangala route to avoid road constructions and skip towns in the regular route.
There was checking only near Yediyur on the highway, i did not have any pass, told the cop we were travelling due to health emegency and he let us go.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Travelled to Bangalore from Mysore today morning to tend to a health emergency.
Left at 4:30AM and reached my place at 7AM. Though there were barricades, there was no checking. I could see cops checking on the other side towards Mysore.

Also the traffic on this route is as it was before lockdown. Closer the Bangalore, the traffic was quite heavy.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

I returned back to Mysore today from Bangalore.
Left my place at 3:40AM and was in Mysore at 6AM. Compared to my travel to Bangalore, the traffic was very less and mostly commercial vehicles.
There were barricades, but no checking.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Planning to come back to Bangalore on Friday, 25th June. Been in Mysore since March end.How is the situation onroute? Any checking etc? I will be, most likely, getting a taxi (ola outstation) since we have quite a lot of luggage. I have heard about random checking onroute, so want to make sure we are not stopped unnecessarily. Both me and wife have taken our first shot. 9 year old daughter hasn't for obvious reasons. Since i am traveling with family, can't start too early. May be with unlock 2.0, the checks are removed (curtailed)?
Is train a better option? Also, Mysore district is under complete lockdown. No unlock here yet.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

23/06/2021 - made round trip Bangalore-Mysore-Bangalore.

left Bangalore by 6.40AM, took Belur Cross route, reached Mysore ring road signal at about 9.10AM. No complains about road condition. About 180 KMS. if someone likes to just work on accelerator, then he/she can take this route.

Finished my work early. Left Mysore by 12.30PM, took usual Mandya-Maddur-Chennapatna Route and reached Bangalore by 3.30PM, about 140 KMS. Road widening work makes you swing the car left and right. Sometimes this route feels better if somebody likes to change gears occassinally and revv the engine.

Covid 19 - in either of the routes there was no checking, just few barricades are placed.

Better to take Belur Cross route if you are in hurry.

Since Mysore is under lockdown, you need to leave Mysore before 10AM on a weekday. Post that there isn't much checking along the route.
Recommend taking a cab over train as it will lessen your exposure to one cab driver.

Any update on Mysore - Banaglore situation if driving on weekend. Especially in crossing over Mysore while coming from Nanjanguad side.

I drove from Mysore to Bangalore last Saturday. I had to pickup my FIL from Nanjangud. We left Nanjangud at 4:30AM and reached Bangalore at 7:10AM.
Took the Kanakpura route, there was checking at one place post Malavalli, the cop didn't stop us. Post that no checking anywhere. Not sure how the situation will be this weekend.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Came back to Bangalore today by Taxi. Left Mysore at around 9:15 AM and we were home by 12:30. Not much traffic and absolutely no checking anywhere. There were few barricades along the way but no checking as such. May be some random people were getting stopped.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

Just a casual look at the map I see what could possibly be a few bypasses under construction on the Bangalore - Mysore route. If so, these may significantly reduce the congestions we experience through Bidadi, Ramanagara, Channapatna, Mandya, and Srirangapatna.

Bidadi

Ramanagara and Channapatna

Maddur - But as we drive we see a flyover under construction right through the town as well.

Mandya

Bidadi
This is part of the upgradation of the Bangalore - Mysore highway to a 6 lane expressway. The whole stretch is being upgraded.

Re: Driving between Bangalore and Mysore

I’m planning to drive to bangalore from Mysore tomorrow. I keep seeing the inter-district movement for non essential travel is still prohibited. Should I anticipate any issues?
