I have the same app on my WP8 but I haven't gotten down to exploring the radio stations yet. Are there any prog-rock / metal stations that I could tune-in to?

Yes!!! There are several Prog Rock and Prog Metal channels. Just type into the search bar and it'll load all the matches. Hit play and you're in prog heaven. I've saved a few in my presets too. I love this app!!!

Whatte wonderful app! I can't believe I'd let it sit idle all this while. I found that thrash-metal station and a few prog stations too. Saved it to the presets. People who say that today's music is terrible just aren't looking in the right place!

I've been listening to A Perfect Circle. Not sure if their can be classified as metal but they're pretty badass!

Sounds great. I will have to check it out on my the good old PC since I have a pretty basic phone.

Thesedays another style of music that's getting a lot of listening and love from me is epic doom/heavy metal...Candlemass, Solstice, Forsaken, Hour of 13 (newer band) etc

It's haunting alight!

And the song itself is pretty sweet. I was expecting it to be heavy, but it does have the energy. I keep forgetting that I'm not listening to Tool. Good stuff man!

Yes. I've been listening to a lot of doom and stoner metal lately. I would highly recommend Pallbearer and Toner Low. A station called Radio Caprice from Russia (via Tunein) plays sweet doom all day long.

IMHO the best way to really enjoy doomy stuff is to play loud on a system with a good subwoofer. You've gotta feel the low frequencies in addition to listening to them. I find it quite therapeutic as well.

My wife and I like Rammstein and Lacuna Coil. We played it at our wedding too.

Lucky you man, all I get to listen when my wife is around is either Bollywood songs or some traditional songs. Ever wonder why few people start liking masochism over a period of time, as me . I started liking these songs myself after few days, only when I bought a new iAudio A9 wanted to try few bass heavy metal stuffs and then I realized what I was missing in life .

Haha! Play it loud. But if the missus doesn't like it, get a pair of good headphones.
