It is a constant source of wonder to me that so many people live their entire lives without using their brain even once.

I do feel sorry for those they interact with.

How do these worthies expect the 10-15% to travel, considering all public transport is shut, and private vehicles are not allowed except for groceries and medical purposes?

Hundreds attend a fair in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. Link
If stuff like this keeps happening, lockdown of any duration will be meaningless. And the sad part is that if a spread happened during this incident, we will only know about it well after the lockdown has been lifted.

Read the news about a pizza delivery boy being tested positive and he had delivered to around 72 households. Was thinking if the E-commerce permit is going to be a big mistake. The number of deliveries is going to be huge and imagine the number of people involved in the whole chain !

What a coincidence! I was just reading this post when there was a huge skirmish outside our front gate. A bunch of strays were barking like anything and I went out to see. Found one poor rat all torn up by them and these doggies were playing tug of war with it... I am no fan of rats, but felt sorry for the pathetic state it was in - all guts torn out. Managed to scrape it away with a cardboard into a paper cover, wrapped it up and put it in the garbage bin.

There was a bit of blood and stuff in front of the gate and spent some 15-20 minutes washing the whole area and putting some bleaching powder and a good measure of phenyl. Nice bit of exercise in the middle of the night! I guess this this lockdown has made me a bit more paranoid!

People will have to change life style until this is over. Here in USA, even though all non essential businesses are closed, food delivery and other online deliveries are allowed. When we order food from outside currently, we are ordering ones that can go to microwave - so no outside food that can’t be reheat. Also, contactless delivery meaning food left at doorstep. We are transferring food from restaurant boxes to personal food boxes that directly go into oven/microwave or on cooking range. And restaurant boxes go directly to trash.

If you follow above then risk is minimized. Also, all deliveries are left as it is for couple days after getting delivered and then wiped with sensitizing wipes before touching them.

From whatever I understand from the guidelines for lockdown-2, if there are no cases in the past 14 days, Red zone will move to Orange and if there are no cases for 28 days then to green. Is this correct? In which case, there should be no significance of 3rd May.

Maybe the lockdown continues until each district or at least most places come to orange or green.

Should they have not done block vise? Districts are large and many towns are so far within a district yet close to another large one in the next !

Or we may see gradual changes in coming weeks but the idea seems to contain and open only when it’s clean for over 28 days.

Not to pick on the USA, I heard somewhere that Golf course is open and allowed.
Only USA and Singapore are so dependent on restaurant for nutrition. There is simple no other country like them.

On the pizza delivery episode, people can be really irrational in evaluating risks. Unfortunately the area where this happened is so rich that most of the people there will be last to get impacted by any economic meltdown. This also partly explains why the orders were from one concentrated area.

In hindsight, possibly the situation could have been handled a tad better. That said, hopefully, we (all) learn from this global event and start focusing our resources and investments where they really matter - healthcare and education (from a government perspective) and towards better quality of life instead of more luxuries (from an individual perspective).

This has been on my mind continuously, didn't want to post it because the immediate situation is certainly what we all should be dealing with. But to my mind, one telling number will be the healthcare spend a couple of budgets post-crisis. Will it get a bigger percentage of the GDP? Time will tell, but I fear that once a vaccine is available, everyone (including us individuals) will forget what we went through. I hope not but...

The problem with uttering nonsense is many people who watch these channels believe them as true and in turn leads to chaos. The majority of people who believe such "news" unfortunately are from lower strata of society and actually believe them.

Helicopter money apparently came into news because of this and this channel twisted it to induce sensationalism.

...channel twisted it to induce sensationalism.
You are absolutely correct. It's the lower strata or the less informed who watch these leading to misinformation spreading further. News reporting in general has been pathetic the past month. Reuters actually covered this today talking about how sensational news coverage in India helped spur the trending topic “Coronajihad” on social media.
Off topic but Twitter USA briefly suspended the twitter account of Youtubers Diamond & Silk who have around 1.5 million followers because they tweeted some Corona misinformation. The way they deal with misinformation there is way different than the way we deal with it. Doesn't matter how big you are, you tweet nonsense and you're banned.

It did take Twitter and the other mainstream media channels a while to get to this stage though. There has been more than enough criticism leveled at them before they became this proactive in dealing with malicious and false information posted on their channels. But they seem to have taken that criticism well and changed they way they deal with such accounts. Still some way to go though.

So it certainly helps when each one of us calls out such trolls, sensationalists, and people bent on sowing discord on these and other channels/media when they post unverified 'information', 'news', conspiracy theories and plain stupid theories from crackpots or unqualified people posing as 'experts'.

Who exactly are you comparing/contrasting Twitter with when you say here?
