Our office performs routine fire drills during which all employees are evacuated and assembled in an open space. This drill is announced before hand, and during the drill, fire alarms are triggered to force people to evacuate. The intention is to keep people prepared for any actual incident of fire / calamity.

I came to understand that people have really taken it to heart, when the following incident took place:

Once the air conditioner in the Electrical room leaked and water dripping on the floor caused the alarm to be activated. People were running around thinking something is wrong, but I noticed a colleage, quite relaxed and doing his work. I ask him "Why are you not running? Didn't you hear the fire alarm?". Off came the confident reply, "But they haven't informed anything previously?"
