Does this have seating or have to stand and eat on the pavement like in Indiranagar?

No traditional seating but has some seating within premises. No eating on pavement. Also place isn't as crowded as other outlets.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Visited couple of places in HSR layout yesterday.

Davangere benne dose Ruchi at HSR layout 2nd stage near IOC.

They serve wonderful dosa, especially loved the chutney there.

Gopal jee cafe, opposite HSR club.

A good placed for chats, we tried tava chatpati aloo chat.

Also tried Ciciana, HSR 1st sector.

Good food, courteous staff there.

The annual ಕಡಲೆಕಾಯಿ ಪರಿಷೆ/Groundnut Fair in Basavanagudi will begin today: it will be on for the next three days.

Raw, fried, boiled, de-shelled - you name it and the fair will have it. If you can spare a few hours this evening, do head towards the Bull Temple road.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Tried Desi Masala (Jayanagar) for their Rs.99/- (actually 104+tax=110) unlimited breakfast. A lot of items on the menu but none of them good! Very much avoidable, it was very underwhelming to say the least.

Age old lesson learnt yet again - don't get influenced by (advertorial/promotional) videos on social media

Some folks in the group actually wanted to go to another place for a decent meal, so we headed to Brahmins Refreshments near Vani Vilas road/Lal bagh where they had Bisi Bele Baath and Ghee rice while the rest of us downed a coffee after tasting couple of spoons of these dishes

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Visited Udupi Sri Krishna Bhavana, Balepete after couple of years, always liked Saagu Masala Dose over there.

Had Saagu Masala Dose, Sambar dip Vade and Coffee. Dose was crisp and tasted better with some extra butter, and liked the sambar in the Vade dip, it was a little on the spicier side compared to most restaurants.

Would love to visit again.

KK

Personally for me the best Ghee Pudi Idli in Bangalore has to be the one made by Rameshwaram Cafe, the Pudi that they use is very tasty when combined with the generous amount of Nandini Ghee along with that soft Tatte Idli. My mouth is already watering now, I might just head out to have one tonight. Although I am not sure how it would fare against the Murugan Idli Shop's Pudi Idli since I don't recollect having tried it there.

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Any recommendations for the best brunch in Bangalore on a Sunday? Location doesn't really matter. I am into sea food, so that would be nice.

What do the foodies here recommend?

Re: A Guide: Eating out in Bangalore

Had been to MLTR , DVG Road, GandhiBazaar today morning. Had Idly, Vada and Khali dosa. Idly here is grainy just like at our home and we liked it. Vada was crisp and not oily so another thumbs up to that as well. Sambar is mildly sweet (not as much as Udupi hotels) but we preferred the chutney (spicy and mint flavoured).

Khali dose was nothing great to write about except that there was not much oil in it.

Few years back, we had been to 3 dots and a dash, Indiranagar for brunch and we liked it. Good cocktails and food. Do not remember if they had seafood though. And I believe they have a branch now in JP Nagar as well.

Another option is big brewsky, Sarjapur.

Brahma Brews in JP Nagar, if relaxed outdoor seating and good food & brews is your jam.

BHPian NPV went there on a recommendation, and loves the place for friendly gatherings now.
