Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

Feeling happy because of the showers in Chikkamagaluru. It has been raining regularly almost every afternoon/evening for the past couple of days. The only downer being loss of at least five modems at my workplace due to lightning .

Bhpians planning a visit during the weekends may please pack an umbrella or two in their luggage!

HSR Layout. 10 May 2017. 1845-1945 hrs.
We have no power. Only inverter juice.
The rain was quite heavy with lots of hailstones too.
Sadly this kind of rain while it is always appreciated, tends to 'run off' rather than permeate the soil and recharge the ground water batteries.
However, the temperature has fallen by some 10 degrees or more and Bangalore is like it was in the golden olden days!

All my dear plants and trees are getting a nice heavenly wetting!

And I am extremely pleased with the fact that it is raining.

I guess I can afford to be smug, sitting at home and not battling through dreadful traffic filled roads.

Heavy rain here in my home town, Trivandrum. Listening to the sweet sound of the rain, enjoyin the sweet aroma of it, sipping black tea and reading 'The Ambhibian' by Alexander Belyaev

Slight drizzle (does it count in this thread) in Bandra. Any update from the rest of Bombay?

Re: The "It's raining in my city" Thread!

It's pouring crazy with very heavy winds along ORR (HSR Layout) this afternoon.

Visibility is very low. Thankfully Sunday traffic is low so not much impact. Hopefully will recharge groundwater levels to some extent.

Bangaloreans definitely can enjoy this lovely weather after a rather harsh summer.

Monsoon has come to Bangalore and how!! that was some rain on the NICE road. It was Pelting down bucketloads. Thankfully I entered the EC toll just when the rain started. After wards I'm sure, there wold be a huge traffic jam at the entrance.

Bangalore's rain pattern is quite weird, no rains at all in my area which would not be more than 3-4km as the crow flies, from EC/NICE

There's a joke since long time about rains in Bangalore. If someone says it's raining, you need to ask which area, block, cross and street.
My most recent experience: raining near Ashoka Pillar but dry at South End circle.

Started raining about an hour back at EGL, Bangalore and has been a steady drizzle since then. I do hope it continues for a while, traffic notwithstanding...
