Had a whale of a time with my nieces last evening at "Mayur Pan Palace" which is near to papaji ka dhaba in Abids.

This place is very popular with the marwari community and you can see scores of them digging into :

Grilled Sandwiches
Paav Bhaji
Bhel Puri
Sev Puri
Paani Puri
Juices
Ice-Golas

We too had all of the above and it is one of the best places in the city for above type of food. Ofcourse, you need to polish it off with their delicious paan ( costly though).

I just tasted a bit of everything as i am not too fond of this type of food.

Give it a try sometime, its VFM and good taste

Have you seen Fortune Ford showroom at Khairatabad, Opp. to Khairatabad RTO.
There is a lane just before the Fortune ford showroom when you gotowards panjagutta from the khairatabad circle.
take that lane, just ahead on the right is the restaurant. You can see the board easily.

Bahar has advertised that it will be available from today!
I think Ramzan starts from Sunday. (All depends on the moon sighting tonight!)

How about a ramadan meet similar to the Mumbai gang?

You know me. I am game !!!

Infact, last year we did a small haleem meet which was participated by Absynthguzzler,Furiousphinx,KKRK2 and your truly.

This time, i propose a haleem meet wherein we will eat from the following outlets :-

1. Pista House, Charminar ( Should reach early as their haleem finishes latest by 9:30pm)

2. Sarvi, Rd No. 1, Banjara Hills

3. Hyline Bakery, Gunfoundry

4. Four Seasons, Tolichowki

If not 4, we should be able to devour 3 plates for sureas quantity this time will be lesser and prices higher ( Rs.60 to Rs.80 per plate)

I suggest everyone to come on their bikes as it will be easier to move around or we go in ONE car

Mobike, include cafe 555 to your list of Haleem joints.

Last year it was one of the best haleems available.
Location: Maheswari Complex, Road #1, Banjara Hills.
The first building on the left, when you enter from Masab Tank flyover side.

Are you sure you want to have Pista House in the list?

IMO, the worst Haleem you get in Hyderabad is from Pista House! Even some of the smaller joints on the road sides serve better tasting Haleem compared to Pista House!

Thread for Ramadan meet coming soon!

Last year, had it once from a different outlet and i agree taste wasn't that great and twice went to charminar main outlet and it was over. So lesson learnt, should reach early.

However, from my experience a year before last year, their haleem is heavenly, loaded with ghee and meat perfectly grounded and the right tinge of masala's. Let's see if they do better than last year

Isn't Spice6 on the same building?

I second Nazim on Pista house - best left alone (or the P&T dept to sell to unwary folks).

One addition I would like to make is the Harees from Asian, Nampally. Absolutely heavenly, delicately flavoured and not as heavy as the other stuff.

Cheers,

Some of my friend's have mentioned that the best haleem in the city is available at Shah Ghous at Barkas. Though out of way for most of us, however a must try.

This place is very crowed after iftar and the recommended time to go there is around 12am.

I guess the haleem is available till 4am...What say!!
