India play a total of three (3) test matches in 2022. I think they might get a farewell test.
Don't see them coming back in the team in 2023.

Ganguly has been a terrible administrator so far. Do not know why he represented a false picture to Saha! Heard he also attends Selection Committee meetings.

Quote:
Saha being bullied by a senior journalist is just plain harassment and blackmail. The culprit most likely is Boriah Majumdar, who probably does all the dirty work for Ganguly. Good that this behaviour is being called out, and I hope Saha names and shames whoever has done this.
BCCI contracted players are not allowed to give interviews, unless they have permission from the BCCI. Off late just about everyone of them has been appearing on Boria's shows! Obviously because he has Ganguly's blessings.

India versus Sri Lanka 3rd T20I

Fantastic recovery from Sri Lanka! After being reduced to 29 for 4 within first 10 overs, Sri Lanka end up with 146 for 5 in 20 overs all thanks to 38-ball 74 from the Lankan skipper Shanaka. It should be an easy chase for India however.

Very sad to hear about Shane Warne and Rodney Marsh. Om Shanti.

May their Family and Friends get all the support that they need in this difficult time.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Arguably one of the greatest minds ever and probably the greatest cricketer not to captain the Australian Cricket team. The greatest spin bowler ever, the passing of Shane Warne’s demise is shocking. Tells you how fickle life is, Australia just lost two legends in two days. Heartbreaking news .. May both of their soul rests in peace.

Re: The Cricket Thread

To say this is shocking is an understatement.
Greatest leg spinner world has seen. All of us who watched him playing have tried to bowl in his unique action. His battles with Lara and Tendulkar were legendary.

52 is too young to go. He will be missed by world of cricket. RIP

I feel for Aussies playing in Pakistan. First Rod Marsh and now Warney. Most of them have been touched by Warney in one way or another. Sad day.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Huge, innings and 222 run win for India versus Sri Lanka in the first test, not that it wasn't expected

Big takeaways from this game:
-Jadeja's performance (175 not out and 9 wickets in the Match) with both bat and ball, hope he gets more consistent.
-Good batting contributions from everyone, for a change the top, middle and lower order came good - Rohit, Mayank, Kohli, the Purane (Pujara-Rahane) replacements (Vihari-Shreyas) doing well, big scores from Vihari, Pant, Jadeja, Ashwin

More consistent? Anything more with the bat and he will be in Bradman category:

Last 5 year average is 46! His numbers are staggering. I can just imagine what Sanjay Manjarekar feels after every such performance from Jadeja.

"Mankading" as generally called or "Mankad" method of dismissing batsmen is no longer unfair play in cricket, says MCC.

Re: The Cricket Thread

India Vs Sri Lanka Day/Night Test at Bangalore underway - just hope India bat and field well, both these are possibly our weaknesses in day/night tests. One bad innings with the bat and few dropped catches can mean the game is gone, like we saw in the Sydney test (infamous 36 all out and dropped catches during the Aussie first innings cost the game then).
According to news reports, during the practice session couple days ago, the Indian slip fielders Rohit, Mayank and Kohli dropped several catches (Kohli has mentioned in the past that sighting the pink ball under lights is sometimes difficult).

Edit:India 29 runs and 2 wickets down, Mayank and Rohit out
