That means dravid was very quick between the wickets. He could hit the ball straight to the fielders & still manage to score 4 runs or even 6 runs a ball. great.

Surprised that there is no action on this thread. India doing rather well. After SA posted 152/1, the bowlers have run through the top order and the score stands at 231/6, as I write this. Another 14 odd overs to go in the day.

265/9 now with the day's play almost over. If we wrap it up well below 300, well and good. Then it's upto the batsmen to post a huge total.

Yippie. 265 all out. Thats a great comeback considering the Africans were 152/1 at a stage and going strong. Ishant makes his presence felt with 3 wkts. Bhajji chipped in with 3 as well. But credit goes to young Piyush Chawla who provided vital breakthroughs everytime they looked like running away with the game.

Lets see how we bat tomorrow morning. Sehwag and Co. have a task on their hands. We must win from here.

Wondering why the last ball six match between SL and WI was not discussed at all here? Awesome finish and hats off to Shiv

Its more than last-ball six match:

10 from 2, a six and a four would do it, Vaas pulls back at the time of delivery

49.5 Vaas to Chanderpaul, FOUR, well well! Vaas over pitches outside off, the field is close and he creams that past mid-off
can he seal it with a six!

49.6 Vaas to Chanderpaul, SIX, This is the stuff of dreams! Off all times Vaas has to bowl a full toss! Chanderpaul waits for the gift, clubs that across the line and the ball just goes sailing over Jayawardene at deep midwicket. He waits and waits for the ball to clear the rope, a rather long and agonising one, he breaks out in celebration and the entire troupe from the dressing room rush onto the field and crowd around him. We can just imagine the scenes at Unity Village in Guyana, Chanderpaul's home

I was watching the WI-SL match and fell asleep with 6 overs remaining and see what I missed !!!!! :(

And of all the people - Chanderpaul did it with a 4 and a 6 of consecutive *****. Amazing !! Always known as a slow scoring batsman - he sure surprised people yesterday.

. I disagree. I am not surprised. Chanderpaul is a match winner. He can score what the rate he wants. Generally he is slow since WI are always in trouble.

First hurdle has been crossed. Keeping SA below 300 was imperative. Now, the Indians need to string together a few solid partnerships and push for a score of atleast 350-400. The prospect of having to chase down a big score while batting last is not a safe one to say the least.

The decision to drop Pathan was just pathetic. Pathan showed more ability than our regular batsmen on a pitch obviously assisting the faster bowlers. Scores of 21* and 43* on that pitch showed that Pathan is more than a useful middle-order batsman. Why is Jaffer in the team? The politics in our team selection is sickening.

Looks like India will win this Test match. The umpiring is of a very poor standard, with LBW decisions not being given when the ball is headed for middle stump.

rks - I think it is a blessing that Pathan was dropped for this match. The thinking before the match was to get Pathan to open (yes I know he batted well and showed some character and is useful in the lower middle order) but opening is still a specialist job and if not Jaffer, I would have wanted Gambhir to open. The lad's been in good touch lately.

MSD impresses me everytime he captains the side. Seems like a natural. It's only a matter of time now that he takes over the test side captaincy too.

How come Wasim Jaffer is able to stay in the side for so long (and keep getting picked over and over again) despite not doing anything noteworthy or even contributing regularly in any manner?
