ICICI Emeralde Metal has unlimited lounge visits for both primary and add-on card holders. Also you get 3% cashback in form of statement credits.

They are yet to offer the Metal version to me. They say it will be opened to the public next month. Do you have it ? How did you manage to get your hands on it ?

I dont have it yet. My RM also confirmed that next month it would be open to all eligible people. I went through their terms and conditions and this appears a good credit card for non-spend benefits and offline use. If they have accelerated reward system like HDFC, this card would be unbeatable.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Is the latest DCB metal worth it if you already have DCB LTF?

From what I've read as of now it seems like a good deal but when benefits are pulled the LTF one would edge it out.
From a long term view LTF is still the one to keep.

Anyone has a different viewpoint? Need to look as Ive been offered the metal version as an UPGRADE.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I have taken a Large Term Insurance and need to pay its premium.

What would be the best Card in order to gain some points - INFINIA ?

Amex Platinum that I have I paid a term insurance around 2 months back and got zero points which was a disappointment.

Just trying to understand the world of rewards etc

I also own an Axis Magnus which I understand has been devalued substantially.

For insurance, please check whether the insurer is accepting Amazon Pay or Amazon Pay is showing and allowing payment for your insurer. If so, one can buy Amazon Pay voucher with accelerated rewards from respective portals like Smartbuy, Giftedge, Amex Gyftr and pay using it.

If the above is not possible, Infinia is your best bet.

A major devaluation IMO. They are pushing the existing customers to upgrade to Regalia Gold with FYF offer with renewal fee of Rs.2500 unless you spend 4L in the year to be eligible for renewal waiver. This Regalia Gold seems like a trap for those who are on Regalia LTF offer like me, after evaluating the features I have decided not to upgrade unless they offer LTF for Gold as well which seems very unlikely. By the way, Gold will give you 12 complimentary lounge visits per year within India and 6 visits outside, so unless you are a heavy user of HDFC, I do not see any reason to upgrade to the paid card which has almost the same benefits like the regular Regalia.

Ya they have been pushing the gold card very agressively. For lounge access I have decided to stick to Scapia which allows unlimited lounge access on a monthly spend of 5000 (Which basically is one car full tank of fuel). So I will not be going for gold card myself.

Does Scapia give fuel surcharge re-imbursement as I don't see a mention of this in the T&C ?

Thinking of this card as a backup for international transactions as it is anyway LTF.

No they don't, and fuel difference is the last thing I do by end of month if I have not met the 5000 condition.

They’ve completely done away with the complimentary lounge access for the Millenia CC. One is only eligible for a complimentary lounge access if they exceed the quarterly spends of 1 Lakh.

I think they’ve also removed the 5% cashback benefit for Flipkart.

Seems like the Millenia card isn’t VFM anymore ; moreover they’re pushing to upgrade to Regalia Gold CC.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

The HDFC devaluation of Regalia, Regalia First and Millennia cards is pretty bad. However, it does seem they had literally handed out these cards and now realised the losses they were getting from Lounge access fees. Also, the queues at the airport lounges showed how the access was available quite freely not only from HDFC but other banks.
My wife has Regalia First LTF and now her RM is pushing for Regalia Gold which comes for a fee.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

HDFC Easyshop platinum Debit card gives 2 domestic lounge access each calender quarter for a spend of 5000 INR only in preceding quarter. No Smartbuy voucher generation needed and debit card can be swiped at the lounge. So if you have HDFC bank account, make use of the Debit card.

If you have Regalia CC as LTF, please keep it. You can still access international lounges through Priority pass with no spend conditions.
