Quickly took a few pics and escaped.

car was spotted in Allahabad (U.P.)
Registered with Rewa (M.P.) R.T.O.
Number should be 2715, But I don't think anyone can easily work that out.

While I do have faith and belief in "Sai Baba" I don't think any of his lessons says praise him by Breaking Laws.
I Feel like reporting it to Traffic Police..

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Watched a police riding a bike with number plate resembling LOVE (seems it was some artistic impression of One Zero Four Nine in Devnagari).

The point is one hand is outright illegal, secondly we dont have much love left for these jerks. With this childish thingy, these lawmakers do ensure depleting it real fast

You should come to namma Bengaluru and see the number of Number plates in Kannada. Of course, it has decreased in the recent past, but then, there are still lot of vehicles with numbers in Kannada.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Recently I saw 2 vehicles with MH 46 registration. It didn't have any alphabet series. It was just plain MH 46 XXXX. Happened to see one bullet and one range rover with such numbers.
Is it a new style adopted by Panvel RTO?

They all start with plain ST-NN-IJKL numbers. Once this series is exhausted, they move on to ST-NN-A-IJKL and so on till Z, then AA, AB on till AZ, then BA... you get the idea. So I guess these vehicles were registered during the early days of Panvel RTO (early '11 I guess).

My dad's bike (1990) had KL-11-5xxx. My scooter (1993) had KL-11-C-7xxx.

Hi Iqbal - the sticker guy knows exactly what he is doing, the inverted "L" actually is "J". See the notation on the boot lid beside the number plate. It says MH 01 JA.

The Innova is a consulate vehicle and hence the "CC" number plate.

Its Historical Numbering P in PAH represents the state. AH is refrence to the RTO and 13 is unique license plate number.

I have seen a similar PUP 5 registered car parked in West Delhi where i used to stay. When inquired , heard from neighbors that the car is from Chandigarh.

So i am guessing, P is for Chandigarh.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

Penalty for fancy registration plates increased to Rs 2,000

http://www.indianexpress.com/news/pe...-2000/1142237/

Those caught with "inappropriate" registration plates will not longer be let off with a meagre fine of Rs 100. From Wednesday, anybody caught with a decorative number plate that has fancy fonts, will be stopped and issued a court challan of Rs 2,000 to Rs 5000. The drive will be carried out in two phases at all crucial locations across the capital.

Earlier the traffic police used to issue the challan under 50 CMVR 177 Motor Vehicle Act, which has a maximum fine of Rs 100. But now the challan will be issued under Section 39, which states that if a number plate is not appropriate, the minimum fine is Rs 2,000. "Earlier we thought that the said challan is for vehicles without a number plate. But we found that it can be issued in cases where the number plate is not appropriate. We took legal advice in the matter and we were told that a fine of Rs 2,000 can be issued," a senior police officer said.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla said, "In some cases, we find that there are stickers and images drawn on number plates. In others, the font and colour of the text differs. Some have number plates of different shapes and sizes. According to the rule, the text on the plate has to be clear and visible from a distance. Many commercial vehicle drivers do not follow these instruction. This penalty hike is expected to deter motorists."

To make sure that the drivers do not deny or question the challan in the court, all zonal officers and traffic inspectors issuing challans will be given digital cameras. The officials will click a photograph of the number plate of the vehicle, attach it with the notice and then produce it in court as evidence.
