So, this is just a ploy NOT to pay any fine if caught for any offence .... the poor Bangalore policeman, who is already in the death bed for want of resources and energy, will let this car pass whatever mistake this driver does

We don't have a standard even in this small issue of Registration Boards.

The activists have been using TG.

I have a more serious problem - I have a TN-registered car on which I've paid AP road tax. Will this payment be valid in the new state too?

Heh. Indian, with a pre-modern era number (ABC-NNNN type) written in Devnagari. Can't figure out the top row, but the numerals (second row) are 536.

The logo looks like Lexus's to me.

I think it belongs to Nepal. Check this:

I guess its a van from some chinese manufacturer that resembles a previous gen Toyota Hiace. I am speculating so because i have seen so many chinese cars during my recent visits to dubai that are exact copies of cars that used to be in production by Japs 5 or 10 years ago. Some of these companies like BYD and Chery have copies old Toyota Hiace and Toyota Hilux as far as i remember.

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

From the Tastefully Modified Cars (PICS : Tastefully Modified Cars in India) thread,

I am surprised the law hasn't caught up with him yet considering the fact that transport commissioner Rishiraj Singh and his men are enforcing the rules in the state very strictly.

And very rare too. Most modified cars from the south have a standard font for the plates like this one:

Take a look at this number plate!-1.jpg

Looks neat, legible and does not seem to break any laws.

I had pointed out the same in the aforementioned thread.
Although the second number plate looks "neat, legible", it does break the law. The font used is not the one prescribed and proper format would be "KL 7 BY 0011" instead of "KL 7 BY 11". Call me nosy but it isn't acceptable either. Former JCP(Traffic) Delhi used to fine such number plates too, and it was great, IMO.

Yes, you can refer here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ricts_in_India

You will find AN-registered vehicles in Chennai occasionally, but spotting one in Bangalore is a rarity. My guess is that most of them are air force officers transferred out of there.

Sorry to break in and not sure if the rules are changed recently.

Known to me the usage of 2 digits is allowed if that is alloted and not omitted.

My previous vehicle had been given the regn # as KA-XX-X-65 when checked with RTO it was only 65 and no 00 added.
Cheers

Re: Take a look at this number plate!!

These are our cars.

We had 2 different styles earlier.

Then now changed to go by the Law.

EDIT: Sorry about the order of pics.. Not able to change them!
1. Number stickers on the bumper with a white strip on the windshield
2. Bigger Font numbers on the bumper. (no white strip. got rid of it)
3. The regular by law IND plate.
