its a petrol and i did
Nissan -150kmph - Hyd- bangalore Highway last sunday...
and 140kmph - checkpost road(Jublee Hills)
Ikon 1.6 140kmph - Road no 12 after kaman...
Sierra 110Kmph - checkpost road(Jublee Hills)
uno D 145Kmph - new stadiam road.
RD350 140kmph - checkpost road(Jublee Hills)

While driving back from Bombay to Bangalore in my Nexia i touched a top speed of 180KMPH (shown on speedometer) in more than one place.. But the car floats when u hit speeds in excess of 160KMPH(again as shown on speedometer). I can confidentally tell that the car could easily make 160KMPH. I felt that the car could do more.. But i lacked the courage to do it. I felt that the car needed a variable power assit steering to handle such speeds. I only car that over took me in the entire journey was a Skoda Octavia which effortlessly over took me when i was making speeds in excess of 160KMPH. I really loved the roads from Bombay to Bangalore.. I must agree Indian highways have improved a lot.

145 in a UNO D? mine struggles to get past 120 on the odo. i have managed 120 while go down a slight incline on the krishnagiri - bangalore highway!

the UNO i done 145Kmph had done only 6000Km and was in exelent condition...
Uno can do it...
i think something wrong with your UNO...
i have done 120 many times on an UNO Without Any Problems...
man get your car Checked...

well i have shifted to Bangalore 2 months back as i Joind a MNC here...

hey my uno has 86k on the clock! maybe that is one of the reasons... i also have this problem with the accelrator cable developing play. so maybe thatz also one of the reasons...

as i said before that uno D had done only 6k...and was in very good condition...
uno has a very good engine and can 120 without any problem...
have done max 145kmph on an uno and then didnt have the confidence on the car...ha ha ha

The RS was modified, but in a good way. Plexiglass side and rear windows, thin glass front windscreen, 5-point harness, additional oil cooler etc.

Yeah, owned all of the cars/bikes when I lived in the US. Sold everyone of them when I moved back to India. Actually, I got the BMW to bring to India, but customs gave a tentative quote of 7.5 lakhs and I sold her as well.

Currently I have the City 1.5, RD and a 1990 Audi 100 2.2E

235kmph, this past weekend on a ride with the red roosters to mulbhagal ghats...funny enuff i was the slowest of the lot on my cbr 600 F3....most guyz were doing 250+ and a fellow rider touched 270kmph on his cbr1000rr...was an awesome ride though, left morning 9:00am and back by 12:00pm...covered 250kms and emptied a full tank of fuel

somewhere between 160 and 170 in my stock astra on mumbai pune expressway fully loaded with aircon on full blast going downhill and taking a draft from the car in front. it doesnt go beyond 155 on its own.. have yet to try after fitting the k&n.
on the track i have done somewhere between 120 and 130 on a rotax in coimbatore.

Hit 175Kph on eastern express highway on my baleno with freeflow 3 years back at about 3pm, with 2 more friends in the car.

Then i have also hit 170kph on bandra highway on my baleno couple of years back at about 2am

Then again hit 170kph on my Vtec (When it was stock) couple of months back again on bandra highway again at early morning.

And as far as da fastest average speed goes, i maintained an average speed of 131kph on my baleno again, when i was driving from vileparle to marine drive at 4am through the S.V. roads(No highways). I reached the start of marine drive from parle which is about 24Kms, in 11mins. That was one heck of a drive, never driven faster!!
