why don't we post something dearer to our heart...top speed is rather relative, and coz of speedo's, sometimes inaccurate...lets try accl 0-100 and 1/4 mile times...i;ll go first

stock baleno...1500km old

0-100 - approx 11sec
1/4 mile - approx 18.5 sec

Hey CD,

Damn.... i actually had a GPS reciever in my car once but didnt think of checking speedo error at the time!
160km/h on the speedo... i guess would be roughly 148-155km/h truespeed.

220mph in a fully modded Mustang
wooooops.....i almost thought the above speeds were taken from need for speed underground 2. my real life top speeds are . still, i would like to share my experiences:
(all speeds shown in the speedometer)

Zen : 130kmph
Full Story : coming back from my workplace at 2am, saturday night. so mumbai roads r not that empty. after reaching the juhu link strech (the road outside amitabh bachhans house), there was dis lancer who was constantly trying to take me down since quite a while, uping/diping his headlights like a psycho. after gettin too frustrated, i shifted from 3rd to 2nds & started off. my windows were closed, only the blower was runnin', not the a/c. i did 65-70 in 2nd. he was almost kissing my back. then, went to third & took the car all the way to 130. by the time i saw my rear view mirror, he was left far off. (the lancer dude didnt noe to drive am sure). i couldve shifted to 4th & maybe done 140, but the car was surely unstable and since my target was to smoke the lancer & thr were a few cars ahead, i slowed back down to 60-70.

Ikon 1.3 Flair : 150kmph
Full Story : nothing special, our family was coming back from pune with 5 on board. dad was driving & a/c was on. he just touched 150 for awhile, but maintained a constant speed of 120 only (expressway speedlimit = 80kmph ).

M800 : 90kmph
Full Story : well wasnt fast but it happened at 8:30pm in a normal mumbai traffic dis frnd of mine had(still has) dis modded 800(was 3rd in the 2003 speed runs in 800cc category). the 7 bungalows to yari rd. strech (where many accidents have taken place). it was 2-2 1/2 years ago, he had an awesome sounding muffler. so he just stopped for a sec & then started off & whoa, the car was doing constant 70-80 in regular traffic. i was so scared & finally when he managed to touch 90 in 3rd, thr were some cars stalled in the signal ahead. it was fun back then.

Merc SL320 Brabus : 80mph
Full Story : well we were coming back to our studio (kumar sanu ig u guys know). he was driving & i was in the pass. seat. well the small strech which comes before the mhada CO's. he just stopped for awhile, opened his roof & took off. well, the car (auto shifitng i think) touched 80mph (approx 128kmph) in barely 6-7 secs. however he could not maintain the speed for long as the road was not in our favor :(

heres the pic of the brabus

not too attractive, but hell, its got sh*t loads off power!
(u can see my equally powerful zen parked on the right hand side, behind the plants )

Intake,Exhaust,Head Ported , Polished, Stage 2 CAM, Three angle Valve Job, Lightened Flywheel, It did 18.4 sec 1/4 mile in Drag 2005 in Mumbai w/o Nos
Now working on the ECU , Its Damn difficult to get performance product for this engine, like Fuel pressure regulator, Sparkplugs,

The ECU is the Key if we can remap it ti will do wonders, The Car engine revs very fast up to 6.1K RPM & it can easily rev up to 8K RPM as per my tuner but the F*@# ECU cuts off at 6.1K RPM

Hmm.Let me see,my personal bests.First and foremost would be doing a very, very illegal 117mph on the M25 London Orbital in a Merc E200K.The craziest? How's squeezing out 145kph from a New (Well! It was new then, less than 4000k on the odo) Accent DLS at 4am on the NH47 near Kayamkulam sound?I was in bit of a hurry to catch my flight from Trivandrum to London, via Colombo. My friends, the same ones who had graciously offered to drop me off at Tvm airport were snooring away in the back seat!!The scariest or should I say the stupidest?112kph on a Shogun, with a even more scared friend for a pillion, near Nanjangode enroute to Bangalore. With crosswinds strong enough to you to timbuctoo for company. But nowadays the speedo on my Accent CRDi seems to live near the 165kph mark.I haven't pushed my Tavera beyond 150Ks yet.Bragging rights? No thanks.Just glad to say that I'm still around after all that.Your car, your skills and your luck needs to be aligned real tight to live through experinces like that. And to who ever has gone fast or faster, drive like everybody else is a homicidal maniac.Be prepared for anything, and enjoy that adrenaline rush.Too bad our raods are'nt really safe for such speeds........

135 - 1.6 GTX
140 - city 1.5
160 - accord
120 - ikon 1.6

i dont push the cars. once in a while whenever a zen or esteem with a loud exhaust really asks for it i smoke them up. i have a free flow in my 1.6 GTX but its silent (well almost... )

never measured the times though. maybe i'll do it once i get a gtech.

130 kph in a ford ikon 1.8D.
but u need an entire runway for that..except for the economy, its the worst car that i have ever driven.i think even a m800 can outdrag it.

Hahahaha..indeed satya. It is one of the most pathetically sluggish cars available in the market. I was really wondering as to how on earth could they price that disaster along the Accent CRDi but fortunately its become cheaper now. I really wonder who buys that car anymore.

i swear by what u say.
its really pathetic.so sluggish that the m800 can outdrag it in reverse gear.and what to say abt the so-called PS.it sukks.except for the FE.i got a superb 23kpl at 60-80kph as that was the max i dared to do.
also for all overtaking u had to plan about 10 mins in advance .
the seats also sukk.

btw whats the OE tire on a 1.8D.my car here has 175/75r13 .

dude down south the ikon 1.8 and the lancer diesels sell like hot cakes! you'll have to be lucky to see a petrol lancer or ikon!!! at least thatz how it is as far as i have seen. when my friend bought a mondeo petrol the ford guys here said thatz the first petrol car they are sellin. same with skoda too. very few skoda petrols around. similar with 1.6 GTX!!!

i think hindustan motors came up with the sfxi kit for the lancer diesel after seeing the demand here. anything diesel sells there. zen, ikon, lancer, qualis... i remember one guy askin the honda people if they would bring a diesel car!!!
