Hondas are making us jealous due to their low service costs. It is unimaginably economical affair.

I was surprised too at the service cost. Here is the breakup of Techfreaks 1st service. Compared to Techfreaks and Avi's service , there is a significant increase in the labour and oil cost.

Sujai if you look at your breakup it should come up to around Rs. 4100/- (1808+563+1635+150). Is 5040 the total cost inclusive of the PPF installation?

Odo Reading : 1280 km
Breakup : Engine oil, oil filter change. Wash n clean the bike, check all the nuts n bolts for torque, clean n lube the chain.
Service Centre : KTM Rajpath, Bhubaneswar

Over all very affordable big bike service wise I think.
And yours Avi,

Absolutely. Service charge was much more compared to what others were charged. Add service tax to that, and my bill goes high.

300V engine oil only was used though.

No. PPF was extra. Here you go -

I'm yet to decide whether to escalate or not. Will take a decision once the Bajaj - Kawasaki relationship rumours get confirmed.

Auto service has higher labor costs compared to other service center in Bangalore. They are notorious for ripping off customers in labor charges. I was charged 200 rupees for rear wheel bearing replacement for my pulsar 180ug3 which took around 10 minutes for the job. This was around 3.5 years ago. Next time try the one in Kasturba road.

Re: Servicing Costs of Superbikes / Sportsbikes in India

The KTM-Kawasaki (sales & service) split is going to happen soon, probably in a month's time. A shoutout to the current owners -

Are the Labour costs for Kawasaki bikes like Z250, Ninja 300, ER6n, Ninja 650 & Versys 650 (which were so far serviced at KTM dealerships) same as that of the Kawasaki CBUs like Z800, Z1000, Versys 1000, Ninja 1000, ZX10R, ZX14R, H2 & H2R (serviced at exclusive Kawasaki dealerships only)?

This will give us a fair idea about what to expect in terms of running costs for the upcoming Kawasaki Ninja 650 or Z650 or Versys-X 300 once KTM-Kawasaki split.

Re: Servicing Costs of Superbikes / Sportsbikes in India

Good catch M. As far as what I have seen in this thread for the Kawasaki motorcycles, the labour cost is around 50% of the total amount. Not sure if IKM will charge a premium on the labour if their technicians are servicing the -800cc bikes.

The service kit which comes with filters, tappet shims (20k interval), the head cover seals and all such consumables cost some 12k plus, if i remember correct. Then oil about 4k, plus labor should take it to 18-20 range.
