It's almost litre class material, minus the electronics. But should be priced cheaper than the new STripple 765 I feel.

I called Kawasaki Bangalore and they said that there is only one colour option, the Green Black combo which you see in the release pics. The person from the Kawasaki Bangalore was not very sure. Would love to know if anyone has any definitive idea.

Multiple color options never made logistics sense, considering the numbers they do. At best, expect other colours to come in only as special editions at a later stage.

re: Kawasaki Z900 unveiled. EDIT: Launched at Rs 9 lakhs (with accessories) and 7.68 lakhs (without)

Hi All,

I did a little look around regarding the accessories for the Z900.

Now as per the below link from Motohive (Thanks to them!)

https://motohive.in/kawasaki-z900-fi...e-impressions/

The motorcycle is coming with accessories, here's a list of accessories and their pricing in

https://www.kawasaki.com/Accessories...UCTACCESSORIES

Name: Accessory 2.png
Views: 2372
Size: 45.7 KB

If we consider direct conversion (not including tax), the total INR value for accessories is 74,604. So they could have launched at INR 8,25,395.

One way to look at this is at 9 Lakh Ex Showroom this is one hell of a bargain!!

Is the ex-showroom price different in Mumbai?

Considering the ex-showroom price is 9,00,000. What is the break-up for 3.15 Lakhs? A 35% jump for Tax, Insurance and Misc?

I checked with Anzen, while the complete breakup was not available right now, the on road Mumbai price is confirmed at INR 12,15,000 inclusive of a 20% road tax.

Currently they only have display bikes, test ride vehicles should arrive by next weekend.

Link to the Mumbai showroom opening from YouTube, watch from 5:30, nothing interesting before that.

Cheers

It appears they have launched two colour options, the green one and the awesome black with green highlights and green trellis frame. The above video shows both the options.

Thats true.. all taxes have been jacked up for CBU to 20 % from the previous 6%. Also for CKD its been jacked up to 14% (I think). Only those manufactured in India and are less than 400 CC are still at 7%, rest all prices have been jacked up in Maharashtra (don't know of other states)

Kawasaki Z900 unveiled. EDIT: Launched at Rs 9 lakhs

Team, I had an opportunity to do a very short test ride while waiting for my state inspection.

Kawasaki has definitely done a great job with this. I am not pro or very experienced on big bikes. Here is what I felt compared to the Z800:

1. Weight - Not sure what Kawasaki has done to achieve this massive weight reduction. It's night and day compared to the Z800. I ride a Yamaha FZ6R and this felt lighter than mine which is top heavy. 800 felt heavy mostly at low speeds. This felt like a 500cc.

2. Seat height - biggest difference for me. Can easily flat foot one side and felt very light.

3. Clutch - heck does it even have one?? Ridiculously light pull. Liked the adjustment. The 800 was rock hard. Maybe something to do with components or a slipper (don't think 800 had one)

4. Performance - didn't go above 50mph, but felt more like 800. Was progressive. Quick acceleration and smooth with light clutch. Sounded nice, typical inline 4. I liked the 800 exhaust. Maybe an Akra will sound better.
Rode the non ABS. Sharp bite, no surprises.

Overall feels better than Z800. If you already have the 800, skip..but worthy upgrade from 600s.

Majorly due to the new Steel trellis frame, extruded aluminium swingarm and the new 5 spoke aluminum wheels, as reported by publications.

Yes it's got slipper clutch + assist.

Nice to read your feedback that it feels like a 500 to handle even though it's almost a 1000cc bike.

I thought only the ABS version was getting released in India and the 9 Lakh quoted price was for the same.

I am planning on getting a sub 10Lakh(on road) bike sometime around August and I've shortlisted the Z900 and the Striple Triple 765 (more suggestions are welcome). Though I don't know the price of the latter, I thought the Z900 ABS fell right in my price bracket. Now if I've to pay extra for the ABS, any idea how much it'll be?

I guess Mqil4ajo test drove the Z900 in the US where it is available as a non-ABS version as well. In India, the Z900 is available only in the ABS version.
