@Keyur, Love what you have done with the pics. Any tips on how to process the snaps to give that look? Thanks

The 'look' is attained via HDR. When you click the snaps, you need to do it in a bracket mode (-0.3,0,+0.3 EV settings) and then use some HDR tool to create a HDR image. You may also choose a bigger bracket (more samples) for the same.

Cheers!

According to some neighbours who visited this weekend; yes the flowers are wilting/ have wilted. I am not sure if they had higher expectations

We should seriously consider getting some nice TBHP T-shirts.

Kaas-Bamnoli-Sajjangad-Chalkewadi-Thoseghar on 24-25th Sep
Incidentally I was there! Sadly, some one stole the LTD sticker on the bonnet. Now all I have are three stickers. LCLC on the rear left qaurter panel, and Drive safe and I drive safe stickers on the bumper.

BTW, I was there in Thoseghar on 24th and Kaas on 25th. Skipped Sajjangarh and Bamnoli. When I went to Chalkewadi, the weather changed abruptly and it became dark and cold all of a sudden. So didn't feel like taking my camera out. Just stood and enjoyed the breeze.

And my daughter loved every moment of the trip. I was looking out for a guy in a beemer, kicking and screeming. But couldn't spot him.

Regarding the t-shirts, Boss moderators, your views on this please? It's a good idea!

Finally, I've taken just 340 photos. Not in 1000s. It was more of watching my daughter in Kaas.

@Keyur. Nice HDRs. Some of them are more dramatic though. I've tried my hand at HDRs too. Got to see how the effect comes out to. Sadly, there were too many people moving in some of the snaps.

@Keyur, Thanks for the details. Just one more doubt. As per my understanding, a HDR would ensure that all the areas of the snap would appear to be optimally exposed. When I asked the question about the 'look', I was primarily wondering about the brownish tinge and the grass-color change in your "Lineup" picture. That's beautiful. Reminded me of the color pallete used in the movie '300'. Must have been part of post-processing where you apply some filters or do some color corrections.

PS : I have zero exposure to photoshop (till date) and whatever little touchups that I do for my snaps, I use the microsoft picture manager. That's why when I see some 'magic' like what you have done, I get pretty excited.

The dramatic ones attract a attention and are eye catching!

That's a result of tone mapping the HDR .

Here's couple of pics from my cam. No post processing done on any. Just random shots. Just posting a couple here from my trip on 24th/ 25th so that it doesn't become OT.

Good pics there Nomadabhi. Can't believe some are from your mobile!

Kaas has flowers this weekend as well. If anyone wants to have a last min dash, can try the same tomorrow.

Here's another teaser pic from my cam taken on 25th Sept

Re: Kaas and Bamnoli: Sep 2011 Team-BHP Meet

I was there yesterday and came back a bit disappointed. It was amazing last and hence i convinced some friends for the trip this year. There were very few yellow/white flowers (visible from a distance) and practically no violet ones.
Parking was not allowed (good move). So, we walked for around a km from the official parking space to the place where the bus usually drops people. I didnt see any views like one just above (white bed) or MX6's photo titled (Kaas on 25th). Maybe the rains in the weekends between spoiled the flower beds?
Was i looking at the wrong place? I do remember the exact spots from last year and was sure that this was the area. Since the sides of the road were cordoned off, we couldn't get a far distance off the road too.

There were some flowers on Saturday (1st Oct) from what I heard from friends. So I did expect them to be there for another couple of days. Anyway, the ideal time to visit Kaas is mostly before 1st Oct.

BTW, the car park to the Kaas meadow is a lot more than 1 km. So I'm not sure whether you actually reached the Kaas Meadow or stopped before itself.

I walked for almost 3 hours clicking pics (including the pink ones and the white ones that you referred to). But as you say that the sides of the roads were cordoned off, it does seem that you indeed walked to Kaas meadow, but the flowers were gone (almost).

I have over 300 pics taken that day with 80% of them at Kaas. Came back like a zebra (high UV radiation on the meadow). I shall try to post some more pictures in a couple of days.

Re: Kaas and Bamnoli: Sep 2011 Team-BHP Meet

It seems that Bollywood also got attracted to the beauty of Kaas.
Yesterday, film actor Aamirkhan with his wife Kiran visited kaas,
he messed up wrong turn at the pawai naka square in Satara and got receipt of rs 100 as fine and he paid it.

There will be no surprise if we see kaas plateau as location for film shooting in coming days.
I don't know whether it is good or bad for fragile nature at kaas?

Reminded me of Silsila (Amitabh & Rekha). Would love to capture that in a Sequel
