We will not change the date.
If the blooming period get delayed due to weather, we will decide what to do just before d-day i.e. may be 15th sept or before.
But it seems that the coming week will be sunny which will be enough to correct the blooming period.
Till then, kaas meet is on 17th sept 2011 as scheduled.

I remember subscribing to this thread but for some reason it wasn't popping up in my User CP. Anyway, I *may* join, with full family in tow (parents + wife + kid). If it is confirmed for a Saturday, we will stay over in Satara and drive back on Sunday (tiring schedule + driving at night into Pune will be hellish)

Only problem is we are working on the 17th *and* on the middle of shifting apartments as well . 24th there is some PTA in kiddo's school and 25th a friend is visiting.

So the dates don't look like it's working out, but will keep an eye on this thread and hoping I can make the trip!

Lunch? Pls don't think about visiting Hotel Malhar on the earlier platue, leaves you with a feeling you had left rather with the stomachful of vision and scent of flowers. We had to nullify the effect with a sumptuous dinner as we reached Pune.



And at the end of the day you may feel like paragliding down in your car into the valley (this is the end as far as you should go towards edge as I feel)...but hey don't

I will be coming in from Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Can we have the timings and the route so that I can meet-up with the rest of you people?

Whether Kaas will bloom or not, Team bhp numbers definately did bloom with the exception of few who cannot make it!

I am in from Wakad, i guess it is Chadani Chowk, but time is what i am looking for!

@nomadabhi we can meet under Hinjewadi flyover, PM me the time.

have been following this thread since a long time now and did not confirm as was not sure to join in. Well as it stands now i will be visiting on 16th and 17th (With my wife and 2 year kid). For me the current plan is:

Leave from here on 16th Sep Friday Morning reach Satara and check in.

Visit Kaas Lake, Kaas Plateau visit Bamnoli and Triveni Sangam. Are all these possible on a single day? Return to Satara.

Check out on 17th Morning and Join BHP members till Kaas again (Enjoy the beauty again). I will like to depart then and may be check out wind farms.

Does the above look good or is there any other plan where i can make use of 2 days more judicially.

day1 visit to sajjangad fort-thoseghar waterfall and chalkewadi windmill farm.
all are on same route.
day2-join bhpian for bamnoli-kaas lake and kaas plateau flower show.

AP thanks for the above inputs. On Google maps was able to find Sajjangad fort and Chalkewadi Windmill farm, please can you point out Thoseghar water falls.

Also does Sajjangad fort involve climbing? and how safe will it be in rains to climb? a bit of concern as with my 2 year princess...

Thoseghar waterfall is 2km before chalkewadi windmill farm ,
you can easily find it while going from sajjangad to chalkewadi.


Sajjangad fort is easy and safe,
there is proper road and parking place at the fort.
From parking to fort entrance , its just 100 steps easy climb.
I bet, your princess will enjoy this whole trip.
I suggest, as there is no proper eatery along both roads toward chalkewadi and kaas, you should take away any food required for your princess from satara only.

Ashish saab, its interesting to read this thread although I am bit late here. Do we have a confirmed list of members for the 17th ? Curious to know about the Bangalore boys who are planning to be part of it. How do I become eligible to be a co-passenger if someone is willing to tolerate me for this 2 days road trip ?
