Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Spend my Sunday afternoon giving my car a good wash. Used Meguiars car shampoo and quick wax spray. The car has recently been detailed with opti coat hyper seal and hence was easy to clean. Used 3M dashboard dresser for the plastic cladding.

That gloss

I'm been using 'Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax' for over 5 years now and have been very happy with it. You may not see much of a shine on white, but I used this on my blue Figo for 5 years and now on my Ecosport with great results.

I have this wiper blade problem on my V-Cross. Any ways to fix it?

I have changed two wiper blades in the last 3-4 months. Currently using Bosch wiper blades.

Wash + wax + foam doesn't make good fellows !
Get a good ph neutral wax safe prewash foam for use in foam lance. I used Gtechniq GWash as a foam prewash and it worked quite well. You can also look at Bilberry ph neutral foam.
There are plenty of wash n wax solutions available like poorboys super click n wax, ONR wash n wax etc.

The problem is with your windshield. Please get it cleaned professionally from people who know what they are doing. Should include a shampoo + road film removal + polishing (if required, and glass polishing is substantially different and uses completely different compounds and pads from body polishing) + hydrophobic coating done.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

Can someone help me with the right procedure to get these spots removed?

I tried using 3M wax and buffing, but the spots doesn't seem to go.

Looks like tar spots.
For a quick remedy, try diesel soaked rag. Else you can try bug and tar removers.

I suspect the windshield. Use a good clay bar and clay the windshield. You've switched too many wipers within a short span of time. Usually a set lasts a year before the next monsoon arrives.

Detailers can do it as well. Take it to a detailer and check.

I tried with claybar and it did not really help. Seemed to work initially and the same issue resurfaced.

Yes, planning to take the vehicle to Detailer.

Would suggest you try sonax cleaner before you take it to a professional. I had a similar problem but it wasnt as bad as your case. The sonax cleaner solved it for me and now a regular wipe with the same ensures windshield is perfect.

Re: A superb Car cleaning, polishing & detailing guide

So i ordered Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 from flipkart for what seemed like a great price of 1375/-. Unfortunately they delivered the packet fully leaked and all the wax had spilled out and is useless now. After 2 weeks of follow-ups they seem to have accepted a return today as i had made a unbox video as proof. Now the product is in a "non-return" category and the seller anyway is out of stock for it. The product is also there for around Rs 1530 on https://www.autofurnish.com/meguiars...0-paste-311-ml

Is there a better alternate product at a sub 1800 price range for my 3 year old silver car? I already have a 3m shampoo i will be using it with.

If you can increase your budget by Rs 200-300 , I would suggest Collinite 845.
1 bottle would outlive your car, I guarantee it.

Or I can suggest you the best spray sealant I have used, the Gtechniq silo seal.

P.S: URLs provided for reference, same items are also available elsewhere.

Okay, collinite is out of budget i feel. It used to be on a deal for 1550 x2 for a 2 pack just a month ago. I should have bought it then only.

Do you suggest any other product to go with the sealant you suggested for my silver car? It seems VFM.
