Yes I got it done yesterday at Elite Jayanagar. Overall I felt they didn't do a fab job. It was ok. I suggest you to go to their Wilsongarden branch and not Jayanagar.

Went to the (photography) exhibition today here in Bengaluru and there was this guy selling some gel/liquid dipped napkin for scratch removal. He was claiming that light & deep scratches can be just wiped once in the direction of the scratch to remove them. Gel/liquid will get collected and dry hiding the scratch. He was even demonstrating it on a mobike fender by scratching it with a blade & wiping it with that cloth/paper and saying it will disappear when it dries. He also claimed that the 30x30cm wet tissue, which he was selling for 150rs, can be used to wipe a car 4 times and a bike up to 24 times.

Any idea what product is this?

Droom.in guys came home in a Maruthi Van, along with a pressure washer, vaccum cleaner, a small portable generator, rotary polisher, water and car care products. They did the following
-Interior vacuuming
-Dash Board Cleaning And Polishing
-Interior cleaning(shampoo cleaning) - including seats, roof and mats
-Exterior cleaning - Pressure washing, foam cleaning and drying
-Exterior polishing
which took almost like 2 hours.

I am very happy with the work except the polishing. It is definitely worth much more than Rs 99

Try steero.in. They do car washes at Rs.350 which is the same as what my petrol pump guy charges. Only advantage is that they come home and do it.

Apparently they are cheaper than the providers listed at droom in Mumbai.

I had put this query earlier too. I wash my Punto once a week and do it myself. However the issue is the muck which gets collected and stuck to the car is removed by me once a week and it gets difficult with general wash. I use the wash shampoo but this does not remove the muck completely. Also I am finding the door specifically getting rough. Is there something I need to do after washing the car? Any solution to remove the minute grime stuck to the car coz they are not coming off easily.

Its a pain to see a washed car gets all mucky on Monday morning drive to office. That's the curse of buying a white car I guess.

You need to use automotive clay or a clay replacement to get rid of the minute bonded particles.

Please understand that clay is a 'mechanical' process to remove bonded particles. After wash and before clay, you must use a decontaminant to get rid of the iron and tar particles as far as possible. Then use clay.

The procedure is wash-decon-wash -clay-wash-correct-wipedown-protect.

You need atleast 5-6 hours to complete the above cycle for a small/medium car - more for a bigger car.

Was exchanging notes with a detailer a few weeks back, and asked him if it was ok to use dashboard polish (the likes of 3M) on external plastic parts like Roof Rails, body cladding, pillars etc.- basically all the non-metal parts that are black in color- in order to prevent color fading due to sunlight.

His recommendation was to use Tyre polish- his exact words were: Dashboard polish is for internal use, and Tyre polish for external, so for external cladding etc. use Tyre polish.

My view was that dashboard polish is more optimized for plastics, whereas Tyre polish for rubber. What is your recommendation? Does it even matter which one I use?

I have seen 3M folks in bangalore use tyre dressing for the black cladding and it works beautifully so i guess the person you spoke to was right.

Wipe with APC, if that does not work use ethyl alcohol.

Dear Blackasta, can you please recommend a good APC for interior cleaning of fabric seats, roof and plastic of the door.

My car's door plastic is of light grey colour and now there are some stains that are not going after using ONR and Meguiar's NXT shampoo. Even seats show some stains because of my son who feels hungry as soon as we start any journey . I see one small spot on the roof as well.

I do have 303 aerospace protectant. But my idea is that it is not a cleaner and more of a shield. Please correct me if my understanding is not correct.

In this rainy season, has anyone experienced fungus/ mold/ black spots in car interiors due to moisture?

I am seeing that in both the cars - when they are not used for a few weeks at a stretch.
