What else would you strongly recommend?

I will suggest opt for Alpha variant if you can. The additional items you are getting in the Alpha are justified for the price you will be paying.

No need to take Maruti rubber mats, you can save that money and take 7D mats from outside market.

I have taken spoiler, dicky mat, window visor, door sill guard, door guard and chrome side molding.
TPMS I have taken of Skyshop from Amazon.

Most of the stuff I have taken from Pasco Auto Gurgaon, if you want I can introduce you to my SA, he is good.

I got most of the accessories (Maruti genuine ones) at the same price as I was getting from local accessories shop.

Re: My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review

Can I have an idea on expected regular service cost for 1.5P engine of MS? I mean oil, filters that are changed and WA WB done every 10000 kms.

Oil 0W16 grade is priced at Rs. 1575 for 3.5L. Oil filter 16510M68K00 costs Rs. 85. WA/WB-Better do it from specialist tyre shops. They aren't mandatory at MASS. Air Filter is around Rs. 295. Fuel filter costs Rs. 505. Both air filter and fuel filter need to be replaced at 4 year/40k km mark.

These are prices for XL6.

Shashi

Installed: Maruti's Cockpit Headrest. Basically these are adjustable side supports and neck rest for increased comfort. Pics are self explanatory.

Out of curiosity, how do you check your blindspot with the additional headrests?

Ok for rear passengers, but not the driver IMHO.

Liked the cockpit headrest. It seems that it can be installed in a lot of cars from other brands as well!

I have installed these only on the middle captain seats. It will be a disaster if installed on driver seat. The Baleno showcased here is a demo car, was not installed permanently there as well.

Yes, should fit.

Some other doubts which people had:

-I paid Rs. 8,500 for 2 sets. Cost is Rs. 4,250 for one seat. A bit expensive IMO.

-It doesn't rattle at all over bad roads. No extra sound due to this installation.

-Side supports can be folded up in steps.

-Even though frame is made of plastic, it doesn't feel too flimsy and won't create any issue unless it's deliberately hustled with.

-At least in XL6, it doesn't create any blind spot or issue in rear visibility. Yes it's visible but didn't bother me anytime.

Shashi

All fog lamps in MSIL cars have similar knobs for adjusting the focus, so please don't fall for the nonsense dished out by mechanics.

I tried the adjustment today after finding some time. Only the left fog light was accessible which I could adjust. The right fog wasn't accessible. So now it looks like the lamps are winking. Looks like a visit to a local garage will be required.

Re: My first car: 2020 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Alpha MT Review

Can't explain it properly, but this actually looks super uncomfortable for me. Like my head would be trapped between the 2 side pieces.

Might make sense for those who like to corner at extreme speeds, but otherwise, unless someone has a neck problem, I don't think the side support is necessary.

Edit: might be useful for a passenger trying to sleep.

It doesn't create a blind spot, but may hinder head movement and bending, which might pose a problem. But otherwise it's a great addition
This is actually quite common in many cars. As a comfort feature, skoda offers it on Kodiaq. It's a small swiveling support that opens to let you rest your head to the side and sleep. It's super convenient.

In race cars, a similar arrangement is put in place to act as a brace. It minimizes the whiplash/neck strain in case of sideward movement of the head to a large level. The maruti ones apear to be big and well padded, they are very comfortable on long drives I'm sure. But not very usable unless the roads are good. Can't fall asleep otherwise

Worthwhile for the missus to sleep on during the long road trips.
Seems Too expensive IMO, but will surely check it out before the next trip comes up.

Thanks for sharing.

All these innovations yet nobody has a solution to convert fixed headrest to something like this?
They'd make a lot of money.

Why, the side pieces can be folded up, if you notice in my pics.

Exactly, this is useful for quick naps.

Yes price is on the higher side.

Our road conditions offer many instances where one can catch a quick siesta, for example long traffic jams. The rear occupants can easily rest in such cases. For a reason, similar arrangement in Skoda is known as Nap Package.

Sure it doesn't - but it certainly obstructs the driver's view when he/she turning his/her neck and checks for traffic over his shoulder.

Blindspots are there is any vehicle.
