Nope the engine is better now,i am happy with the driveability,in gear acceleration is very good, i dont push my cars more than once or twice a day so its serving my purpose well but surely a tuning box is planned.

The quality of plastic used for dashboard is not good,apart from this everything is fine

The last set of pics were taken near dlf I,gurgaon at the road connecting faridabad road to MG road.

@Anshuman - How muich did the set up for Hid lamps and Hella red grilles costed and also am assuming that doesn't harms the warranty?
Also if you can post a pic with the change.

Philips HID did cost me around 8000with bill and 1year warranty ,i gave away my old ice in exchange,hella redgrille cost me 1200 bucks with bill and warranty.

Ah ha!!..Thank you Roms. Yeah!! +10-15 K more in B'lore but i think it is worth for me to go 4 it as i don't drive heavily.

Even i was in a confusion between the FIRE and MJD as my monthly running would be between 800 to 1000KM. But there were more reviews on MJD and is more VFM considering the torque as per the majority of people.

here is my simple calculation, if i go for MJD then i could be saving 2000 to 2500/- per month which i can adjust in the EMI and that will adjust the extra amount for the MJD. In this way i will have a proven diesel car with me and once i save 30k i can go for Pete's

bad calculation? i dont think so. But still i will go with FIRE if i am really happy after test drive.

The bloody work schedule never gives me chance for test drive

In the 1.4 you need to keep those revs really high to get any sort of punch. If you think about it, it will be fun initially but could become quite an irritant in the long run. The low end torque is pretty disappointing.

I would have considered the 1.4 myself because im not too happy with the MJD NVH levels but after driving the diesel the petrol felt really sluggish at the low end.

With 1.4 90bhp, the Punto FIRE is a really powerful hatch .... Why power-hungry folks are not choosing the Punto petrol?
I see petrol heads putting extra bucks to go for I20 (inspite of being underpowered)!

It is very silent compared to MJD too (of course not as silent as a honda)
And all the petrol engines (irrespective of manufacturer) are detuned at lower revs. Else they will be screwed in FE.
Cross 2000rpm and it will pack quite a punch.

Two reasons I think:

1.) The perception that Japanese and Korean petrol cars are more fuel efficient then European and American ones. Since the i20 isn't light as most Asian cars normally are, it would be interesting to see the real world mileage figures of both these cars.

2.) European cars = diesel engines. And with good reason.

Not really. The I20 is giving 10kmpl in city.

The 1.4 FIRE would give 11-13kmpl in city driving (It already gives 10kmpl-12kmpl in Linea). Punto FIRE should win hands down in the petrol hatch comparison with I20.
Cheaper, more powerful, more feature-packed, more fuel-efficient! No-brainer decision actually.
Unless people are so obsessed with plastics that they ignore everything else!

Exactly. The petrol GP is being side-lined with this overwhelming discussion on the diesels.

For people who like refinement and have low-running, they need to look at petrol cars.
