Even I would like to upgrade stock tyres to Michelin 185/65/R14 XM1+, can you share or PM me the details of dealer where you finalised the deal for tyre exchange.

Have you decided about reverse parking sensor, I am thinking to get one like Raamki got in his car - Red Soul, If you have any better idea please let me know.

Thanks

Rajesh@ Darshan tyre dealer near your house offered final deal of Rs 5500/- as a difference amount which I need pay him after giving him stock tyres. (Along with Rebook bag)

So before Rebook bag offer closes I wanted to get best deal eventhough I know that tyre dealers will give you bag in next month but they will use that as a deal and not as official offer!

I checked with N Mehta (Shop situated at Tilak Road - Swargate intersection) and asked him to give me 5 pieces at this price) He takes decision quickly and we closed the deal. I surprised the way he agreed and above all he said I will give you nitrogen free!

I also surprised him I know some people will call it madness but I made full payment even though he was ok with partial payment. The reason I paid him full is because later I don't want him to creep saying - you drived extra Kms and now that offer is now more valid and all.

About reverse sensor not thinking seriously but if I get good one then I will go for it. Red Soul from Raamki thread is sounding good but don't want to clip another rear mirror on stock one.

One of my fried suggested Cars Cupid @ Aundh is good one as got all his accessories for his new Linea from him at good price.

Kumar, thanks for quick reply, I'll try to fix the deal with Darshan Tyre Dealer even if He is charging me few hundred more, as on delivery date I don't want to go to Tilak Road, but I'll use your funda with Darshan Tyre Dealer and will tell him N Mehta is giving good deal to one of my friend. I have to learn many things from you (especially negotiation - sometimes I'm very bad)

I'll try Cars Cupid @ Aundh. Even I'm interested to visit CARAX @ Opp. Hotel Sadanand Resortas, Baner.

Each XM1+ tyre = 3650/-
5 tyres = 3650 x 5 = 18250
Difference after exchange need to pay = 5500/-
Total cost of my stock tyre = (18250 - 5500)/5 = 2550/- per tyre
Does this include Wheel balancing, wheel alignment, etc? Or, is he charging separately for those?

So far, most of hte chennai dealers i checked are offering only 2100 per tyre (Stock MRF ZV2k)

Yes, Kumar is getting deal include of wheel balancing, wheel alignment and nitrogen filling.

Even I'm getting same deal (with help of Kumar), but I'm confused should I upgrade to 185/65/R 14 or should I retain the original stock size 175/65/R 14 and change it to Michelin XM1+.

@ Kumar : I asked the works manager - service centre and He recommended filling of Nitrogen, but He insisted me to stick to original stock size at least for first time, He recommended change it to Michelin for more comfort drive.
He told me there won't be warranty problem (IMO: may be vary from dealer to dealer) if I upgrade to 185/60/R14 or 185/65/R14.

Amazing; the best i could manage so far is Rs.3,550 for the XM1+ and Rs.2,100 for the stock MRFs. Wheel balancing, Nitrogen filling, fitting, etc. come free.

This is with Tyre Stores at Greams Road, Chennai.

Chennai guys: Any better place in Chennai where i can drive a better bargain?

Hi Rajesh! Thanks for checking details with car dealer. I heard alot about Michelin so wanted to try and as you know that I wanted to enjoy free offer so I gone for it.

You can still go for Michelin XM+ but with 175/65/14' size and that also costing same so that is also one reason why to settle on low size if you getting bigger size in same cost! (My personal opinion though)

About Nitrogen still have below doubts -

a) Not sure from where we can fill it on regular basis or do we need to travel extra Kms to get it?

b) Even if we sometime fill Nitrogen than can we sometime go back for normal air? I don't want hard and fast rule that now I can't fill regular air.

c) In almost all petrol pumps normal air is free so how much refilling nitrogen cost? (I know 5 bucks for normal is not a big deal but for comparison its good basis)

Yes, Rajesh mentioned it correctly that in Pune we getting Wheel alignment + Load balancing + Nitrogen free!
I think in south dealers keeping huge profit margin and does not pass it on to customer or may be the tax is too high. But if am not wrong Pune is collecting high tax and that is my understanding

Updates

There are two updates I can say -

Aug/Sept seems to be very good for me as some goods things happening and on top of it today was the best day and bit little tired also.

First bad thing - Today was project delivery which got postponed for tomorrow due to "Summer Bank Holiday" in UK (Thank god) so that kept me busy and somewhere in backend I know till tomorrow noon I have time so I was taking it lightly and that delayed my work & now that made me to sit late night

But some good updates I got so that pulled me on forum to write -

- I think Ford Fiesta was not willing to accept me with my existing job post so my company understood that and today I got promoted as Project Manager

- I was bit confuse if my SBI loan will clear or not as they asked me to submit 2 years Form 16. I submitted 2 years form 16 but one month was less as I was working with other company for that month. So one month of financial year gone in other employers Form 16 and I think gave original copy of that to person who file my IT return.

So somehow I manage to get form 16 from last employer but by that time my file was gone to RACPC of SBI Pune.

But luckily today I got call from RACPC when I was returning from office and the gay asked for original Invoice paper! I was shocked when I came to know that SBI staff still working as it was 7.15pm

He asked me to bring Invoice and he said he is their in office for another 1.5Hrs (Boy! another shock)

I visited RACPC and handover the original invoice as I was carrying it in my car only and was expecting something like this to happen at anytime.

He didnt asked for form 16 but I said keep it as I dont want to come again if you people realize it later.

He said I may need to come on Saturday and sounded like everything is clear from his side. He said just a verification part is left which will be done tomorrow or day after.

That made me Relax for second time.

Now the updates about accessories so no good or bad news this.

Checked Stanley seat cover and got below pricing eventhough this is not final one as I got it just the range as dealer said you take the quotation from others as well and in end you come to me & for sure I will give you best as no one can beat the pricing he quoted so not sure how much its true.

Stanley Classic = 19K to 20K
Stanley S-tech = 13.5K to 14.5K
Stanley Satin = 22K

For 3M CR 70 & CS 20 = Range of 3K to 4K & 5K to 6K resp (or other way round,not sure)

I checked with other local shop and he said he one good brand "HF" and it will cost me 8 - 9K

I checked his Swift and it was having good fitting and he said he get it stitched from bombay and it will take 3 days and for fitting 3 hours will be required.

May be Bombay guys might be knowing HF brand.

There are two brands in it - a) HF b) HF Comfy

HF comfy is cheaper by 2K & its completely plain.

Kumar, congrats for promotion as Project Manager.

Tyre Size : I think manufacturer decides the size of tyre as per the design of car and after considering various parameters of car (my personal opinion, I may be wrong). I agree upgrading to higher size will make difference in terms of comfort, grip on road etc., but for first time I'll stick to stock tyre size and will change it to Michelin.

Nitrogen Filling : In my opinion it is not a big deal at least in Pune, I have seen nitrogen filling stations in Satara, Sangli, Baramati and Nashik. Even though if you fill air in one tyre (in case of puncture) and nitrogen in other tyres, it should not be problematic until and unless you are maintaining same pressure. You can change it to normal air as and when require (For your Info : Atmosphere contains 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other gases).

PS : Don't use more than two smiley per post.

Thanks,

Yeah, keeping same size of tyres is also a wise decision to avoid ECU error.
I narrowed down to185/65 size of tyres because I saw numerous posts on this where many of them recommended to go for this size of tyres.

For first I will ask the dealer to fill Nitrogen and then will see how how it works!

Kumar,
I was browsing the forum and came across this thread. Not sure if you checked it or not so posting it here. In fact, that section itself has a lot of useful advice.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/owning...r-new-car.html

Also, about the Nitrogen, from what I have understood is that it generally costs Rs50 for a refill/3 refills. It is said to be better than air. Do a search on the forum for more details. We have filled Nitrogen on our car.

Yes Lambo, this is what I was looking for and thanks buddy
About nitrogen I need to do bit more research.

Even though we planned to bring Josh Machine on Dashara but this window of wait time sometime becomes very difficult to pass

Does this mean that after this I cannot go for normal air for my tyres?
As per tyre Dealer nitrogen air lasts for around 1.5month!
hi I have filled nitrogen in my 195/60 R 15 for the ANHC. Not able to make any visible difference. Have reduced the air pressure by 2 psi in the tires and am getting a much smother ride in the city specially on bad roads. The advantage is that you do not have to check the tire pressure at least for 2 months unless you are going for out of town trip. Make sure that there is a petrol pump/service station near by so that you can top when required.

Yeah, before filling it I will check its availability as I don't want to travel half an hour just to refill the nitrogen!

Yeah, am feeling as if clock needles not moving and its taking more time than usual to start next day.

a) I am planning for leather seat covers & preferably I will go for Stanley as in Pune we don't have option of Karlson!

I quotation from few dealers and almost finalized with whom I will get the seat covers but yet to finalize which sub-type of Stanley seat cover I should go for.

b) Other than that I already fixed deal for Michelin 185/65/R14 but OSS concern forcing me to rethink on up-sizing of tyres from 175 to 185 as this needs ECU reconfiguration and my car dealer service manager said that he need to check with Ford if this going to void the warranty or not!
Else I will go for Michelin XM1+ but with same stock size of 175.

c) I am planning for Sunfilm and initially I thought to go for 3M but after reading few threads on BHP I also added Lumar in my wish list.

However putting sunfilm on rear window is still a big question for me as few BHPian complaining that after putting sunfilm the defogger stopped working.

Do we have option in Fiesta to put Sunblind or we need to make provision for it to hang it on rear window?

d) I dont understand much about music system but later I may go for a big woofer system
