Figo is available in showrooms now, prices starting from 4.0 lakhs, trying to aim at Swift I guess.

Hum 4.0 lac tag looks quite tall, we were all expecting around 3.5 + lac bracket.

Will wait for the official word rather then speculations.

If the price is going to be 4.0 lakhs - better to wait for the other small cars to arrive too.

As GTO had mentioned, I hope Ford is not going to adopt a High Price first and then drop price strategy later. Somehow I get a tinny feeling that its going to be that way.
Also absence of Employee discounts is going to hurt.

I do not think Ford could sell volumes if the price for the base model is 4L. Better to wait for other ones to arrive.

Maybe initially they thought Polo will be priced at 4L onwards and they can price Figo at 30k less i.e 3.7L (that's the price ford dealers had told prospective buyers till last week)

And now since Polo prices start at 4.3L (leaked to ACI), maybe the revised prices for Figo.

Bad for the consumer and maybe bad for FORD too, as now they can't wean away prospective Beat and i10 buyers.

4L for Figo is a good price considering its size, build quality, handling etc,. Its comparable to Swift in size.

Not necessarily. These are some figures from ACI:

0-100 Performance:
Figo petrol/Diesel =16.36/16.26 sec
Swift petrol/Disel=13.09/13.87 secs

FE:
Figo petrol/Diesel= 10.9 (15.4 for highway) kmpl/14.1 (18.5 for highway)kmpl
Swift petrol/Disel=11.9 (17 for highway) kmpl/14.4 (19.1 for highway) kmpl

Well, I do remember some article during last visit of Ford CEO wherein he stated his preference for having a pricing closer to i10. I am guessing a 3.4 Lakh price for 1.2 Petrol and 4.55 lakh for Diesel engine.

Also I came across an article in India Today where Allen mullaly's name is in participant's list in some sort of Conference in march (alongside whos' who of Indian Polity and business). Is that the time period when Ford is going to unveil pricing of the Figo?

jus enquired with the guy in Ford Dealership in nandanam Chennai, March 1st they will have the demo cars and the likely price of petrol OTR is around 3.6-3.7 lakhs.
At this price it would be a threat to the rest of the pack

Guys be more sepcific please . If you are quoting prices, please mention for which model (diesel/petrol) and also if it is ex-showroom or OTR(on the road)!

3.6-3.7 OTR ! ? Is this a typo. You must mean Ex-showroom for sure. Man the prices people are quoting are all over the place from 4L ex-showroom for a base petrol to this 3.6 L OTR which means about 3.2-3.3 exshowroom!
