re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Got my car back from the service -

Car is feeling good as new! they fixed all the rattles

Total Bill Rs3200 - Not bad for the 4th Service (30,000KM) car has finished 3 years with us.
I have taken the extended 4th year warranty now.

Labour -
Service cost 1050
Wash - 275

Rest was for the parts

Parts cost
Oil Filter,
Oil,
Gasket for the drain plug
AC cabin Filter
Consumables
and some other small items

Seat Locking mechanism was the source of the rattle for all these years and finally was replaced under warranty

I also got the AC cabin filter mesh changed - some Rs300
Without the AC filter mesh service cost should come to about 2,900

The wash quality was superb! Everything was cleaned properly. This was the best wash I have got from any @ss until now.

Very satisfied with the way they handled the service and with the SA (Hemanth) who handled my car.

Thanks for this info. I'll be taking the car in for its first servicing soon and I'll be pushing them to replace the locking mechanism.

Hey Captain, whats the cost of the 4th year warranty and what does it include / or exclude? My 3 years would be complete by next month.

I wouldnt advice changing anything until you have a serious problem with it.

I guess that depends on your definition of serious! To me, a continuous and irritating squeak in a brand new car qualifies as serious. And if I get Ford a. s. s to change it under warranty then what's the challenge ?

Agreed! This can get really irritating that too on a new car that you have paid for with your hard earned money.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

In my car there's a couple of rattles that's audible on rough roads. One in the rear. Probably something to do with the hatch. It's been there from the first month or so. The other somewhere on the LHS of the dash.

I've reported them on 2-3 occasions. They rectify it to my satisfaction and then it comes back after a few thousand kms. Chronic problem I guess

But the rest of the car feels solid.

One clarification requirement.
The immobilizer lamp continually blinks when engine is stopped. Is it normal?

Probably you are talking of the anti theft feature. That's normal.

Yes Thanks. Why I was worried was because it continued to blink even after I entered the car and went off only after starting the engine. I thought once opened the door it would cease blinking.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Folks is the AC covered under the 3rd Year extende warranty. I have the extended warranty for my car but not the document. The AC has stoped working today. The blower works, the light on the AC knob glows but there is zero cooling.

have taken an appointment for tomorrow morning at Noida Ford. The car is 28 months old and has 41 K on the odo.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

In my tdci, there is a metal grazing sound from the engine bay.
The sound occurs only when pressing the accelerator pedal from idle. It goes off later. So typically 750(idle) to 1000 rpm only.

This is not when the engine is cold; only when the engine has warmed up to operating temperatures.

I am suspecting the idler pulley or the tensioner bearing. Are they prone to premature failure in 1.4 tdci(25k km; oct 2011 model)?
