Harit I have mentioned you as Seniors :-) I named carl because of his knowledge at such a young age. As far as the question of contributing to the thread is concerned even a small bit of information can be usefull and everybody here is trying to share, there is more joy in giving (information) i guess.

SO keep it coming ..

Thanks and Regards

Re: Faster789's collection

Lets attempt an ID on the big Veteran with the Boa Constrictor horn please and figure out what happened to it.

Where is that Mercedes 320 now by the way......such a handsome car ....one could easily mistake it for a 500/540K

Your knowledge is impressive and usually quite correct, thank you for commenting further. Nice to catch up from where my knowledge has stopped. Interesting that the woody RR ended up divided, but that body was awful - the panel gaps!

Re: Faster789's collection

Hi Faster, In your vast archives I wonder if you have any pictures of the Batliboi Rolls, Mark 7 jag, and the mark 5 jag, 47 lanchester and studebaker stationwagon 56 or 57, of the Khans? Both families living in the malabar hills area?

What model / year was the Batliboi Rolls Royce - Silver Ghost ?

Also, does anyone have a picture of the ex-Parlikamedi R-R Phantom II Barker Tourer (Chassis 27-GY) while in India ? Believe the Registration was USH-124. Thanks

Re: Faster789's collection

Travancore, My childhood memories only recall it was a rolls of the twenties. A huge car. Sold sometime in the late sixties or very early seventies. Sadly the generation in the family that could have thrown more light on the subject have all passed on except for one rather colourful gentleman who has age related memory lapses. I will again meet him and try to get some info.Another rolls, a phantom was with the jungalwala family also on Malabar hills.Of that I have a picture somewhere. The family was good enough to give me a snap of the car and some badges they had removed before she was sold. Sadly no member of the family survives here although some may be in Australia.

Hi, a Parsi gent on this forum informed me that the Batliboi Rolls was in fact the Baroda Landualette which is now abroad. It left in the late 1960's or so. There is a picture of this car in the Bombay University Campus. As pictures were given to me I can not post them.
It was described as 40/50 colonial model.

Cheers harit

Here's a list of Baroda cars on their official website - Baroda connections.

Thanks for the identification. Here's one more picture of the Maharaja and a brief description of the said car (you'll have to use your favorite simple microscope to read through ): Link.

The "Bless With Glorious Reign" car is most probably a PI (Chassis 75-EH; A.Mulliner Landaulette).

It was one of two almost identical cars made by A.Mulliner one each for the Gaekwar and the Maharanee - the other was Chassis 71-RF which is very much alive and well; and in recent years for sale in the U.S.A (shown below)

And so now you see the ex-Batliboi car. Always subject to correction.

Re: Faster789's collection

Nope. The Batliboi Rolls was not the baroda car.By way of academic interest, it was sold for two thousand rupees.
