Replacing my 2021 Celerio. Dad was in a minor accident, where a 2-wheeler rear-ended the celerio and the bumper just tore off. He was so disappointed with the build quality that we decided to let go of the car.

Choice of colour took us back to 2009, when dad wanted to get the sunset orange of Sumo grande. But then, they told waiting period for that colour was 3 months. We wanted the car sooner and settled for blue. I had the tropical mist (same sky blue colour as in my Sumo Grande) for the Punch. But this orange display car impressed dad.

This booking was put on hold as the Maruti Truevalue guys messed up the celerio sale. I canceled the sale and retained it.

Now, it was time to fill in the vacant space that was left after I sold my kwid an year ago. Celerio stays for city runs alone. Gifting my dad a Punch Adventure MT in the same orange shade.

The effective OTR Price was 8.9 lakhs (increased life tax rate from 10% to 13% in TN). I negotiated 35k offer and paid 8.55 lakhs today. If the atomic Orange shade Punch MT I saw in yard hasn't been allocated to anyone else, I will be taking delivery by Monday or Tuesday.

Had been looking at a chauffeur driven second car besides the Tucson for school runs and local chores, since work keeps me away from home. Didn't explore much, booked a Grand i10 Nios, but the dealership was arrogant about not letting us do a PDI. So cancelled the booking and went with the Ignis.

All Punch cars in the yard were allocated to other customers. I had to wait 2 weeks for a freshly baked sample to arrive from factory.

It arrived at the yard today.
Date of manufacture - 1st December 2023. Date of Billing - 24th December 2023.

I did a PDI and finalized on the seat covers today.



Will be getting the RTO work done in the first week of Jan 2024. I will pen down an ownership review after using it for atleast 1000 km.
